Ok then people, seeing as the RSBB is allways down, and can be a bit of a bugger to access, lets start our new thread here

Can we let everyone who is a regular poster on the old thread know that we have moved over here.

I have started to paint further bits to put back on the car, ( once i get it back from the bodyshop), I have also painted the throttle housing, and will do all my inlet manifold and crossover pipe when i get it back from A1 Rallysports.

Has anyone got any recommendations on what paint to get to paint my turbo and exhaust manifold with??

Not been down to see mine since the weekend... so I'm gonna hopefully go tonight to see what progress has been made (if any!)

I think you can get special paint fo rexhausts... if not I'd probably use stove paint - that'd be designed fo ruse in extremely high temperatures!

I am not sure about that Graham, would be nice to be able to still have the old thread, but its about 136 pages long and i havent a clue as to how to get it accessable.

I think its going to be one for Clint and Slim to try and answer for us.

Hi all I have been away for a bit, just got back from Falaraki actually, it was the dogs danglies, I may post some pics on here, I am all refreshed now and ready to get back to work on the S1, I still need a Rad and a -31 though.

bloke who had my old s1 sold it for a saph.. said it's much quicker but less exciting to drive.. probably the lack of torquesteer!!!

I'd love to get on emyself.. think i'd have to keep the s1 though!

Im with Mark Id love to have a big boost cossie but i couldnt not have my S1. I dont think its about being able to afford a cossie cos my S1 has guzzled enough money to pay for a decent saph!

Got it in one.. it's more about not being able to finally give up on teh S1 after the amount of money I've spent and the fun I get from it!!!!

yep, the s1 is coming off the road soon to be stripped and rebuilt and then im thinking she will be too good to take to work everyday etc so maybe that would be a good time for an everyday driver(ie saph cos)

Hello again peeps!

Just been out in my S1 for the first time in 5mths!!! Started on the button (needed a charge before tho) and was a lil fluttery, but once warmed up, took her out and gave her a good lickin.... Fuck me! Now I know why I have kept it and not broken her.... Damn she flew!

Smundo, what do you mean get the engine manifold and turbo powder coated???? good luck in stripping your car, i am in the process of getting mine sorted, i have a shed full of bits a lounge full of new seats, an attic full of old s1 interior, and a spare room full of new bits to go back on. I really need to get he car back together

RScat, i am not hopefull of the RSBB returning anytime soon, so i think we should just stay here regardless if it starts again. And you dont have ANY worries about getting banned here

well ill only be getting a cos if i can get rid of my s1 and v6 calibra which isnt looking likely, nobody been to have a look, and besides which if it does happen ill only be S1 less till i save for another one, seems to me nowadays its dearer to buy a really nice S1 than a saff cossie, i just want to try one out, if i get one and dont like it then ill just sell it and go back to an s1.

defo want another one before the lap thing next year.

No-one wanted the non custom headlining? I know someone did just can't remember who... Anyways, if it was one of you gus in here I'm afraid it's no good... the guy who wrote the car off had a sunroof put in ( ) and put electric windows in it too !!!!

Listening to you guys makes me want my S1 back immediately.. . gotta get down the garage tonight and see how it's going!!!!

smundo, the problem is i cant really afford to get it powder coated at the moment and if its not going to last i would rather have to re-spray the manifold and turbo every 4 months than get it powder coated everytime??

are you after the body kit??

if so i think you will find that Fords stopped making them about the same time as they did the towing eye covers. Your best bet is to get phoning the various breakers and try and put together a good kit with no breaks in it.

mine doesnt look to bad its just the rivet holes are a bit of a mess and i dont really wanna glass fibre it. I know mad for it spares quote £400 for a mint kit so i thought it might be worth just buying it brand spankers if poss!
