thought it was about time I did my own post on me tina.I've had the car since 1988,a genuine 1967 lotus.bought minus engine,so I pinto'ed it.I was in the 1st dyno shootout in FASTCAR,1989.converted to cossie 1990/1991,featured in FASTCAR again in 1991 with stage 1 chip,13 inch mag minilites ,red & gold paint work,etc. converted the car to left hand drive,side exit exhaust,stage 3 chip etc,featured in PERFORMANCE FORD,STREET MACHINE,RETRO ,1996/1997.in late 97 I did a dyno shootout for FASTFORD,made 351 bhp on3 and a half cyls,finally killed the motor,melted piston etc!!!! so I pulled the motor and decided on another major rebuild,heres the new spec
engine,
1.block,200,long studded,spray jets,low comp pistons,6.8:1,total seal rings,carillo rods,balanced bottom end,hi flow pump,wrc head gasket,'group a' big wing sump,2wd fly wheel,APpaddle and grp n cover.
2.head,2wd,ported(big),new guides,isky springs,mountune hydraulic lifters,BD16inlet,BD16exhaust cams.alloy verniers.
3.turbo,T4,lefthand shaft,360 thrust,larger waste gate,-31 actuator,dash 6 oilfeed pipe,bailey turbo damper,2wd exhaust manifold,port matched.
4.inlet manifold,RS500,8 injector,flowed&port matched,'o' ringed,8 greens,Dash 6 braided fuel lines,'group a'BOSCH fuel pressure regulator.
5.engine management,level 8 ecu,8injector board,chipped & dynoed at 'SCS' by ahmed bayjoo,pectel 'groupa' 8 injector loom,c57c's,MSD digital 6 ignition control,MSD monster coil,MSD sheathed 8mm leads,MALLORY monster tach,12 position boost control,air to air injectors,2 x group a fuel pumps/filters,JAZ 16 gallon fuel tank.
6.everything else under the bonnet,RS 500intercooler,oil cooler,pace alloy rad/ cossie fans,GRAHAM GOODE air filter& trumpet,custom made header tank,swirl pot,air filter mount,water injection.
7.gearbox,T5,custom made hydraulic clutch conversion,2wd cossie prop,shortened.
8.axle,atlas,narrow,4 linked,rose jointed,panhard rod,3.44 gears,lsd with zf internals,QUAIFE 2 pc shafts & flanges.
9.brakes,front,GODSPEED 330mm discs & bells,4 pot calipers,rear,cossie 2 wd drilled discs &calipers.bias pedal box,- 3 braided lines,WILLWOOD brake bias control,hydraulic hand brake,line lock!
10.suspension,front ,LEDA 2.25legs,600lb springs,FLOW TECH alloy top mounts,compression struts,in situ adjustable tca's,rear,AVO 2.25 adjustable coil overs,200lb springs.
11.wheels, 17 inch TSW evo's,tyres YOKOHAMA A539'S,205/40/vr17's + 2x BFG pro drag radials for strip action!!
I think thats most of it,the engine bays being painted next week by darran moss,then the engine assy refitted soon after by me. back to ROBINSON RACECARS,to finish plumbing the engine,a quick rewire and yahoooo!!
the engine made 500bhp on the dyno,but I've also got an extra 100bhp of nos to play with!!out soon hopefully,watch this space! puddy![]()
