Looks good Scott!
All you need now is some loom tape to tidy the loom up!
Looking good Scott.
Wish I had the balls, space and competence to do something like that. Must give you great satisfaction when it's completed. Good luck with the rest of it and I hope you keep posting some more piccies. ( series 1's, I love 'em )
Yeh your right Daz, it would be nice to tidy up that loom with some new tape, as would getting the towing eye painted!!!!
The pics dont actually do it justice, ( but then i would say that), it looks stunning in the flesh!!!.
I have done more to it since Mr Bailey took these snaps, the interior is allmost in, well the door cards are all in, rear quarters, all trim panels, sound proofing, going to get the dash out the attic tomorrow, along with the carpet, setas, and harnesses.
Cheers mate, i didnt start out with the intention of doing the bodywork, it all started with a small hole in the sill, the next i knew the car was stripped and was in the body shop getting panels changed and sprayed.Looking good Scott.

And yes i am happy with the way its looking, its better than i ever thought the car would be.
Here is the man himself, hate cameras dont ya Scott
This is what he was doing when i arrived.
and this is another pic 2 hours later, looks remarkable similar dont it
Dunno what it is but Scott always looks very nervous whenever im near his car, which is good in a way as it means a never get my hands dirty.
I will get you back Mick
Not my best side lol
FYI it DIDN'T take me two hours to do that bit, it was three fucking wires, trying to thread them through the tailgate got there in the end though
Its mostly together now. Carpet is in, body kit on, brake pipes, servo, clutch, throttle, speedo cables in, heater box and fan in, tailgate is now complete with all wiring working, rear lights in, spoiler on, bumper on, end caps.
Going to fit the dash, seats, and harnesses tomorrow.
Scott you will be pleased to know that im on 2-10 this week so i wont be over to "help"
so you wont have any bits falling off 30 seconds after i arrive
oh Calli if your reading this nice txt message
Oh no what a shame i forgot about that, ( spoiler falling off), you and cars mate just dont go that spoiler was fine till you walked in!!
How many text messages did you send on my phone mate, i have bugger all credit left now.

It was you that used the credit when you was dribbleing down the phone to Calli

At least i admit to texting and calling her.
[slim]this post has been edited to protect the innocent [/slim]
Now that is totally unacceptable
Looking good mate!! The car that is
Thats a Labour of love if i ever saw one. Very Well done m8.
Nice to see the "Future Classics" Are still gonna be there thanks to us lads that can see past mk1s & 2s. Not that i have anything against em i'v had loads miself. but i reckon the ser1 & ser2 Turbos Are gonna be as rare as hens teeth in the not so distant future.
Just seen this post, looking good Scott going to be well worth the effort m8, keep up the good work bud
Slim the Car killer springs to mindDunno what it is but Scott always looks very nervous whenever im near his car, which is good in a way as it means a never get my hands dirty.
Slim the Car killer springs to mind
one time i went over to see Scott and 30 seconds after I walked through the door the bumper fell off
Looking fapping lovley
Cheers Stephen
Clint, Slim Is THE worst person to have near the car, if anything is going to break or go wrong it will 100% happen whilst Slim is about.
I cant argue with that, its true
Lol @ slim.....Stay Away
Deffo needs them side stripes on....looks too plain without em
christ on a bike, give us a chance mate, my main objective is to get it up and running again, before minor cosmecticts like that
Does look plain without them though
Them wheels look sooo nice.
Get ya bloody arse in gear and stop inviting the "car killer" around cos he must be undoing all your hard workchrist on a bike, give us a chance mate, my main objective is to get it up and running again, before minor cosmecticts
I need to take off my front bumper, perhaps Slim could walk past it to save me undoing all the rusty bolts.
if its too rusty the whole car will fall apart!!!I need to take off my front bumper, perhaps Slim could walk past it to save me undoing all the rusty bolts.
with his old S1 he had a few problems with it, went over sorted them, boost hose and small electrical problem, i took car out, everything fine runs lovely, he doesnt even get off the drive and it cuts out, backfires, makes weird noises. I tell you the man is jinxed when it comes to cars, how the new RS2000 is going to on is beyond me.
Any updates Slim/Scott?
The only update i can give at the moment is that i am still waiting for my inlet manifold and intercooler to turn up, its been with A1 rally sport for the last 4 months and they are really starting to piss me off, My parts have "supposed" to have been ready last tuesday( after phoning 3 times a day everyday, i finally got answers), and was again "supposed" to have been picked up by couriers on Thursday last week, as of this morning still nothing.
Shame really as its now looking more and more likely that i am going to have to cancel my track ticket for National Day
go and get ya bits back Scott, get someone else to do them. must be loads of places in cambridge that could do it.
its not as easy as that anymore, i dont know/cant get answers on if the work has been done, i can only sumise that they have done it, as i have been told today ( after phoning 4 more times) that they were picked up by ANC yesterday, and if i havent got them today, they will be delivered tomorrow not quite last thursday as what i was told on saturday. I thought that A1 were one of the better Companys to deal with, obviously i was wrong. I will have to see if my parts arrive tomorrow now as i reckon its too late for a delivery now
I hate it when people f@@k about. It would be much better if they told you out right. At least you know where yoiu stand.
Got some bits this morning, still havent got the intercooler, there as a note in the parcel saying it will be next week the inlet is here, most of the work i needed has been done except the hole and thread for the water temp sensor, which is the same as i sent it to them.
The thermostat has had everything that i wanted doing done, which was only filling in the return off of the top as i have a swirl pot i dont need the o/e one.
Now this is the fun one, the crossover pipe, its.. well fucked, i had previously had it reversed but needed it turning slighly more so that it will clear the rad now i am going to tilt it forward slightly, anyway told them EXACTLY what was needed, when i looked at it today they have only gone and turned it BACK so that it points the same way as all normal S1's do NOT what i wanted at all, i would send it back for them to sort, but i cant wait another 4 months to fuck up another crossover pipe Thankfully i have another coming to me soon ( cheers Smundo) so i can get it done elsewhere.
I am well pissed off with them, once/if i get the intercooler i am going to have to have some words with Steve, FFS a company as "supposedly" well known within race/rally circles that cant sort a few bits out, and not keep the customer informed.
So if anyone's reading this and thinking of using A1 rallysport @Seddington nr Sandy Beds, think again and take your car/work elsewhere, you WILL be better off i promise. Dont make the same mistake i have with them.
Have you tried NMS for the cross over pipe? Or even SVM?
Its not that i am struggling to get them done, i went to A1 as they were supposed to be good and quick at doing this kind of work, I tried e-mailing NMS ages ago and never had any sort of acknowledgement, even after repeated attempts. SVM not a chance mate, they charge so much for for so little, not only that now i need the few bits that need doing done in a very short space of time, ie turn around in less than a week.
Thanks for trying to help, the only reason i am putting this up on here is so that anyone who might read this can hopefully avoid being messed about like i have.
Scott,
Do an FAO Karl Norris on PassionFord and all his bum licking mates will keep it at the top for you as they do! He should reply sooner or later.....
As far as I am aware he gets thousands of e-mail and being only 1 bloke he doesn't get to deal with every e-mail.
Sorry to hear about your problems with A1 Scott. My Dad got his Quaife group N cossie box off them and they seemed and ok bunch!
if you need any bits doing asap i could get my mate to do them if you want(and ive got a spare crossover pipe for him to do it on)
let me know
Cheers for that Daz, but i have sorted something now.
Nigel, it dont matter about how quick i get it done now, as i have sold my track ticket for National day, and i dont think i will be going either.
Quick update, no pics yet though, will be soon, i have now got the intercooler how i want it, the correct crossover pipe, and a new rad, have also converted the wheel bolts to studs, much easier.
As far as the engine goes, i have added a couple of shiney bits, just top smarten it up a bit, and have finally got the inlet manifiold sorted, with any luck in the next month or so it should be running.
Here we go a few more pics, as of 10/10/03
