    Old Merc, the daily driver

    Hi!

Just thought that if somebody is intrested I could show my current daily driver which I builded in 2013 around 9months. It has now 19000km on the clock with current setup.

Many pictures here, so try to cope with them

So this is Mercedes-Benz W123 from year 81'. It had 200 gasoline engine and almost no options at all from the factory

It required months of to get it all solid again. Changed front fenders, rear side's, whole back panel etc etc..

Some cutting here (just couple of the places):

After that little paint to all the pieces (same original color of course)

The power comes from OM606 diesel (W210 300 turbodiesel), with 320CDI 5speed automatic electrically driven box which I did repair and make it stronger also.

And here is the finished engine bay

Intercooler needed some thinking to get it fit and still be unvisible from front. Finally did find out clever way to make it:

Boost pipes go inside the chassis rails and comes up in the engine bay:

Is very hard to get lsd rear end in this, so I decided to put TYP210 LSD from E36 M3 to original subframe. Needed custom driveshafts with e36 outer joints and inner joints from T4 Transporter

Front brakes are from 500SEC W126, they are bolt on. Original ones are 278x12.7mm and new ones are 300x28mm.

Transmission and engine oil coolers are mounted on front of the wheels, couldn't find room from anywhere else

Radiator (by griffin) is the biggest one I could fit without grinder

Me and my friend decided that we don't have any better to do at the weekend, so we went to my work place and result was a Stainless exhaust with 4" downpipe and 3" double exhaust to back with one silencer. Couple vids in the end..

I made my own dash with speedhut meters, turned up nice! It has 1mm cabron plate where all the instruments are mounted.

Rims are made by myself from original 14" Barocks to 3pcs 16" rims. They are 8,5x16" in the front and 9,5x16" at the back with 205/50 and 225/45 tyres.

So here are to biggest things from this daily driver.. It also has gaz adjustable dampers on all corners, bmw steptronic gear leveller, pcs transmission controller and many other things.. Ask if you have anything on your mind about his car.

    How the car looks now:

Oh, I did dyno this also (rear wheel output only in the pic)

You can look more pictures from here: http://sultzi.kuvat.fi/kuvat/MB+W123+-81/

    Couple vids I promised:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ml7G...nNVhf2i1N_9nwA

And if moderatos find this to be in wrong place, let me know..

    Thank you guys

Transmission controller is PCS TCU-2000, which can be used virtually with any electrically driven tranny. I can adjust pressures, shift times etc etc. It also works in automatic mode, just needs adjusting. I have been running full manual mode, just use the stick to shift up and down. Car speed comes from that bmw rear differential to pcs, so automatic mode works also. Just haven't adjusted all the shift change speeds etc.. Turbo is a bit big for this low output, so big turbo lag is reality with this

Very cool project and love the stance it has .... what mods if any have you done to the engine to get to that power output ? I know there a very strong unit and very popular. I wouldn't think its as easy as putting a big turbo on and cranking up the boost ....

Engine just needs bigger turbo, better injection pump and that's it really. Just a lot of food and boost for the engine needed
