LEE AT THE MOMENT ITS GOT A 270 CAM, SOON TO BE REPLACED WITH A 285, OR POSSIBLY BIGGER. HAS ANYONE GOT ANY VIEWS ON LUMPY CAMS, BEEN TOLD TO STICK WITH A 285 FOR FAST ROAD USE, WOULD A BIGGER DURATION NEED ANY HEAD WORK, AND WOULD IT BE USABLE FOR DAY TO DAY DRIVING?? THOUGHTS PLEASE.

BUST- BOUGHT IT 2 YEARS AGO AS RESTORED CONDITION. BLOKE DID IT THEN LEFT IT IN GARAGE FOR 4 YEARS, DIDNT EVEN DRIVE IT!! I MOT'D IT, USED IT FOR 4 MONTHS THEN BLEW MOTOR-WHOOPS. BIG END WENT, LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE REPLACED A PISTON AND DIDNT TORQUE UP ROD BOLTS- MADE A HELL OF A RACKET. PICKED UP SIERRA INJECTION COMPLETE CAR FOR £60, WHIPPED MOTOR OUT AND FOUND 2.1 CONVERSION INSIDE, QUITE FRESH TOO, OH AND A VERNIER. GAVE IT AN OVERHAUL AND NOW GOOD AS NEW. FEW MORE BITS AND BOBS AND WE'RE AWAY-SIDEWAYS!!

i was running an fr33 cam which was a pain for every day use
in traffic and it needs a big valve head realy. a fast road cam is
the best all round if you use the car every day.
ive sold my engine now , and have got a 330bhp cossy lump which iam hopeing to fit soon .

Have you stuck a red top fuel pump on there or are you running the standard one ?
NOT TOO SURE WHAT IT IS, ITS AN ELECTRIC ONE BOUGHT 2nd HAND, APPARENTLY AN EX WORKS ITEM?? WHEN FUNDS ALLOW THOUGH I'LL BE GETTING A SILVER TOP, THINK THAT WILL BE MAN ENOUGH.

that FR32 looks ok but sometimes you just want to hold the revs to 7500 .............
Nonthing like the gargle of 45's when it comes on cam....
