Just found the ad from when I bought it from Matt. Clint built it or had it built. £150.

[QUOTE keep up with duratec powered escorts on the track.
Mmmm I must learn how to do you tube.
I would recommend an oil tank that can be filled with 7-8 litres before
it become half full. Otherwise you will need a rather big oil cooler....
On my dry sumped Duratec I use a total of 9 litres of oil, and the tank is slightly over mid full.
And I can keep my oil temp below 90 degrees even on sunny trackdays.
Just my recommendation.
And don't forget a good catch tank either. Mine is two litres, just to get rid of all the air in the oil and to get the oil pump to breathe properly.
Remember that the engine will have pretty much vacum because of the dry sump system.
Great car you have btw..!!

Don't get your hopes up.....I will get you some wool
Update on this weekends progress, final engine alignment angle x-member height etc sorted and chassis mounts all welded up.
Are the mounts angled down???
Nice build
nice job
Got some feed back from a lad that I did a Duratec head for and he reported back to me quoting 13bhp on a totally standard engine. Yours should see a lot more with the modifications been done.
Made some more progress this week engine and gearbox alignment now finished and exhaust and steering rechecked before moving on.
Next on the list of jobs was to get the tunnel sorted
Used a Rally Weld tunnel in the end fitted ok to the floor but the bulkhead did take some work to get this to look right, pleased with the end result.
Heated up the bulkhead overlap and ended up with a nice crisp edge, no more struggling with getting the box out anymore.
Next on list is to weld up all the redundant inner wing holes and make a decision to either set the dry sump tank in the drivers side wing or in the boot

Good project mate!! Very nice!!
Looking good buddy.
Bit more time on the Escort welded up all the redundant holes on the inner wings and bulkhead area, a much cleaner install as all of the auxiliaries are being transferred to the nearside

Looking good so far matey.
Lovely project! Keep up the good work!
Had the pleasure of stripping the dreaded old stone chip off over the last 2 weekends, there was a patch of stone chip that had reacted to the gearbox oil so it had to come off, ended up stripping the whole floor and inner wings, what time consuming crap job.
But what it did reveal how good this shell is, don't see many MK1 inner wings as good as these
Yep, it's a pig getting that stuff off, but it does do a bloody good job of keeping the dreaded rust at bay - mine was covered in it when I got it, and there was surprisingly little rot.
still looks good after all these years , do the top plate repairs I done still look ok Eric now you have stiffened up suspension ?
gerry
Run the brake lines inside the bulk head and into the inner wings. clean engine bay.
Looking go tho bud. Just need to get a nice gearbox to go with the engine now. Lol.
Bit more progress, chassis and inner wing to bulkhead strengthening gussets finished, just need to get the brake strengthening brace made up to complete the engine bay welding then get it painted
Nice bit of progress there bud
Due to poxy work commitments only had a few hours on the escort this weekend but was enough to weld in the last strengthening plate, sorts out any bulkhead flexing issues when braking hard.
If anyone needs this plate I may be able to get some made up
Finally got back to the Escort to start the fitting of a 60g gearbox (thanks Trig) needed some cutting to get the gear change housing through the tunnel to sort the engine and prop alignment.
Going to reuse the std brackets from the old tunnel and with some mods to trigs gearbox mount should work well
These boxs are advertised as a direct replacement for a type 9 not convinced on that one
Good work so far. How much power do you expect with the new engine
Nice N/A power will be some machine to drive when done
Yeah there's no way these will fit in same hole as a T9 box. Lol.
Shore will buddy your love it once it's up and running.
