I aasumed it was a jig to prevent movement whilst welding in the axle tubes ??
Love this project. Great attention to detail. Any updates with the axle fitted?
All tried and tested stuff, brief spec is
2.0 ST150 engine
Lightened with a full engine balance using the std crank, all the main bolts are ARP
Manley conrods with Supertech pistons 1st oversize
Flowed head std valves D-TEC35 Kent cams
45mm Jenveys with a SBD exhaust manifold with a 3 inch system
Dry sumped electric water pump
7 1/4 Race clutch
each time I dropped into that build, I said to me, what a great car.
And a really nice build, a lot of shared info's. cool
I am going through the back end on my car at the moment what springs did you use ? Are they 2inch lowering blocks as well.
Many thanks
Ah up not been on here for a while and first thing I see is a update of your car
good you see your still going on it buddy hows that old box holding up?
Sweet
Will there be updates on the next evolution of this amazing car
That is fantastic power Eric !!! I have built a very similar spec engine to yours but have had many people comment that the 12.5:1 compression ratio is way to high for the Kent DTEC35 cams and also I will not be able to run the motor on 95 octane gas without risking pre-ignition.
It is great to see your engine "proves them wrong" which is a great relief to me. I was wondering what your ignition advance setting are and if you have had any issues with the engine.
Well done again on a FANTASTIC Mk1 build, the car looks brilliant.
Would really like to hear about the 2.4 engine?
Cheers

Okay, thanks. How often do you think it would need to be stripped and refreshed?
So where’s the details on the 2.4?!
All depends on the usage if it's a road car and not used on the track, no more than std maintenance required. if you do track days and run the std sump system then every year would be advisable. Use good oil and change the oil a minimum of every other track day.
I will sort the details of the 2.4 shortly

that sounds awesome especially with G60 gear shift so quick.
Nice
The Facebook link still doesn’t work?
Liking that dyno vid, the engine sounds like a monster. What power did you make?
Have you any track days or shows planned this year?
Any updates on the car what power did the 2.4 engine make and how does it compare to the 2litre it replaced
Hopefully starting work again on the Mk1 in March as my son's mk2 should be a rolling shell by then, planned work for the mk1 is.......Turrets, wide 4 link kit decent coilovers, and adjustable watts tower, hopefully this will stop the mk1 trying to kill me when driven in anger.
Never had the pleasure of fitting a 4 link and Turrets should be a fun learning curve
Can’t wait for updates 👍
