probably one of the most slated cars but the vitesse was a monster it did 0-60 in 7 secs for the standard vitesse but strangely the tp didnt have performance figures ever quoted
i had one two years ago and it was a bute i had loads of fun in it and wish i had never sold it but as it was a second car and was not garaged it would of eventually started rusting
so i sold it

so i will try again then, gmac my old man used to work for BL 2 he worked at cowley plant in the seventies when all the strikes were going on, used to live in banbury until 1983
shame we aint got a car industry, bar a few small companys.
it will all go full circle though, people will get fed up of 12 rebadged versions of a golf and as for reliability new cars just arent anymore to many electrical gremlins that are keept quiet
by the motoring press but before long they will do what they did to the british car industry

ps i forgot to say i work at a merc garage and we have at least
7 brake downs a week and there all electrical faults
bar the obligatory put petrol in a diesel and run it. twice a week
and £££££thousands to rectify new tank, pumps and fuel lines rail and injectors,
most of the time swarf in the engine ouch

as you work in a merc garage, my mum has a x reg E240 but with the 2.6 engine and we r looking for a leather interior and some amg wheel, 17's, and poss the avantguard suspension, dont supose you got any of these or know any way of doing slightly cheaper, obviously there is a drink and mc d's in it for you

I bought the twin plenum Vitesse featured in this old post - I still have the engine, gearbox and peripherals. They are installed in my MGB V8 project car. With the benefit of hindsight I shouldn’t have broken the car all those years ago but I had no idea how valuable these cars would become.

The V8 SD1, was a 'throw-away' car 20-30 years ago. The only reason anyone wanted one was for the engine. If only we knew!
I saw a near perfect looking black SD1 parked in Bath a few weekends ago and it made me think; you just don't see them anymore. Anyway, I bet the MGB V8 is nice enough to warrant the loss of an SD1.

When attending the classic car show at Olympia in 2020 I visited the SD1 club stand and apologised in person for breaking the TP Vitesse back in circa 2005. It had a small amount of rust but was otherwise in excellent condition. They seemed to take it in good grace. It lives on in what is almost certainly the only TP MGB V8. I thought about upgrading to Hotwire or mega squirt but have stuck with it and saved a little bit of automotive history.
