Bad news is that the standard half shafts from this 52" axle will not cut down by 1" each. We tried barely 20mm and it's already too much to allow the splines to enter all the way in to the diff - they bind up as the spline 'runs out'. So it looks like not all wide Atlas half shafts are created equal
Got some bits and bobs of the electrical wiring done, including wiring for the headlights and Hillman sidelight/indicators:

Decided to use some nice molex style connectors rather than bullet/spade connectors as I thought it looked a bit neater.
Now need:
- Petrol pipe and ends for under the car.
- Set of original 50" half shafts or cheap grp1 two-piece kit
- Brake hose flexis for the axle
- Finish wiring engine bay (mainly alternator and starter - need to find what the correct wiring is!)
- One final 90' water connector for the turbo water return
- Breather hoses from block to catch tank
Also got a new carpet and extra roll of carpet coming from Aldridge Trimming so that when Si from Hide n Seat starts work on my seats at the beginning of September he can also fit the carpet and make the large tunnel fit properly. So the car needs to be back down and rolling again really at that point - I'd hope we'd actually have working electrics as well, ideally!
