Hey I'm Gary I come frmo a motorsport background, I used to work at Ford as a new car sales exec and my dad had several rally cars we worked on including;

an original Mk1 Mexico WRC homoligated first batch for the London to Sydney rally with dog box, 2l pinto turbo, 2 way lsd, bucket seats breakers etc
a mk2 Lotus Cortina fully rally prepared

a few other toys to boot.

I'm trying to locate the Cortina and the Escort, the Mexico was OYL140L or similar to this in red and was in Kent for many years before my family sold it for a 3rd of it's true value this was the car I was meant to inherit too

The Cortina still belongs to my dad but he has gone into a home and can't tell me where it is, it was at the very begining of being rebuilt, the engine was out but present and other than that it was a shell and collection of pieces. It was held up at the Mid Kent College in Maidstone for at least a decade and I believe it even moved with them, my dad was there learning to do advanced welding and the tutor looked after the car after he left.

He was meant to collect it but never got round to it and now is in a care facility, I doubt I'll ever see either of these cars again but if they spark a memory please get in touch.

I personally drive round in a C-Max a BMW and am making a race car out of a Mini, I will one day get a track bound escort together or if I can locate it maybe even the Cortina
