S1 Dash light on when driving

While driving with lights on, my battery light is faintly on.

Just had car fixed as was losing power and it was snapped wire which was the battery warning light one. car running fine now but a tad concerned about the light

mine was the same m8,its normally the brushes wearing low on the alternator,also check earths.

Mine is the same, and I have a new alternator

Its a new alternator I fitted last month and a new battery

Only comes on when i put headlights on, its not on with the sidelights

Check that the cable from the starter main battery feed to the alternator is in good condition and not broken...if in doubt, replace it with some thick cable and some split convoluted plastic trunking (I hate unprotected wiring!!! If you don't feel confident then ask someone who can do it).

If that doesn't work then the other thing to check is your ignition switch multiplug (the terminals inside were over heating on my car which caused the battery light to glow). slightly

i had a problem similar to this on a pug and it turned out to be where the earth strap bolted on to the engine it had gone rusty, loosened the nut and tightened it again and all was ok problem solved may be not the same problem as this was few years back but think it was similar

Nice one chaps, will be looking when I got some light!

Just enjoying it again after not driving it for a couple weeks !!!! ( my mum had to bring me to work !! ) How humiliating !!!
