Wow!I just read this thread from the beginning!Awsome! One thing I noticed was the twin injector per runner manifold. What is the story there,I havent seen one before?I use 4 900cc siemens injectors which on paper will deliver enough fuel for 600hp.What ecu do you use?are the injectors staged or do they run simultaneously?Awsome car mate!!

Hi,thanks for your comments, its a WRC type inlet manifold, the injectors work simultaneously, its on 8 standard injectors. It goes through the m.o.t with no probs too, runs 2.5% c.o on tickover. I run an escort cossie P8 ecu with pectel piggy back board in it and 8 injector/anti-lag board, can also run water injection from it. Which i havnt fitted as it runs pretty cool temperatures as it is with RS500 intercooler. I dont think you will gain anymore power going 8 injectors based on what you have already, just more driveability and better throttle response

It has something inside thats offset apparently, and with the old quickshift i had it was a barstard at high revs in 2nd gear to get into 3rd gear. I was recommended one by a guy with the blue mk2 cossie simular to my brothers car that does 11.39 quarter mile. He said he couldnt get a quick change up to 3rd gear down the strip and this solved the problem

The problem is with the synchro in the box, the bushed shifters will take a bit of error out the change but wont solve the actual problem, it may feel better without the quickshift though, The Pro 5 uses the same shifter ratio as a standard cossie.

So really it shoudlnt feel too bad,i dont really want a quickshift but just want a more slicker gear change

Re: Update on my Mk2 Rs cossie conversion

Well thats the point m8, a TKO from the states at the moment is very cheap due to the dollar rate, it uses a standard muncie type bellhousing so with a bit of adaption the cossie one fits and is a similer size. I wold think you could fit one for about £1500

Re: Update on my Mk2 Rs cossie conversion/New Dash

Well after finally recieving my parcel today i was able to get on with putting my new stack dash in place. I cut the carbon sheet up and made the dash blank and fitted the gauge. I also fitted the fuel pressure sensor in the fuel rail. Thats the good thing with the wrc style fuel rail it already has a grub screw in the place where the sensor goes. So its a straight forward fit.

Re: Update on my Mk2 Rs cossie conversion/New Dash

Hi mate it worked out £109 inc vat,but when parcelforce turned up with it i had to pay a vat/customs fee of £34. Still not bad for a good shifter. Im going to add 4 x led's for the warning lights and the rotary switch to change the display. I will still have the gauges in the center of the dash. Water capillary, fuel gauge, oil pressure. Just doing away with the volt gauge cos the stack dash has one built in. I wanted to get it done for the ace but times ticking away. Ive got the ok from Leda today to collect my new rear coilovers. So thats a trip i have to do tomorrow to braintree. Then ive got to fit them, and fit new bushes in the 4 link bars and new rose joints too.

How did you cut the sheet without damaging the nice shiny surface finish ??

Re: Update on my Mk2 Rs cossie conversion/New Dash

I marked the carbon with a scriber (sharpe pointed thingy)
Then laid it on a sheet of wood, then carefully cut it with the angle grinder about 2mm away from the line. Then once that was cut out i used the bench grinder to grind off the excess bits. Easy once youve done it once really.
Oh and then i uses an 79mm starret holesaw to cut out the hole for the gauge.

Could be well i had nylon hard as fook bushes in there which i tried to see what they were like, all they do is transmit all the noises in the car. And the rose joints are quite old now. The hard launches at pod don't do them any favours

    or the burnouts

I tried those nylon bushes in my tramp bars many years ago, apart from the noise transmitted all they did was snap the bolts that go into the chassis which caused the tramp bars to drop down at the front, which then wraped themselves around the bilstein shockers, which in turn caused the shocks to snap clean off the lower eye
Dont suppose the country lanes and rough whites helped though , we finished the rally with the rear end bouncing all over the place

    never used them again

Oh dear im glad mine didnt do that! Mind you i have snapped a 4 link bolt at the body box end before, put high tensile steel ones in there now. That sounds nasty

I can sort of expect that with 400+ bhp going through them

I woz only running a mildy tuned pinto at the time with single carb etc and it snapped em both.
far to solid to allow them to move, quite an expensive mistake that was, 2 new tramp bars, 4 new bushes (rubber this time ) and 2 new Gp1 rear billies
learnt my lesson though never to use them again, & that you do need a litlle bit of flex

Kev, hi-tensile = stong in pull... shite in shear, and those bolt are in a shear loading, use 8.8 or higher metric equivelents.

Ok thanks, well i think they are high tensile.
I go to a place in chadwell heath where they do nuts and bolts, and i told him what the bolts are for and he said these are the bolts they sell to all the american drag racing blokes with their 4 links,so hopefully i got the right ones.

If your cutting Carbon sheet use a fine hacksaw blade (32tpi), but fit the blade backwards, this stops it splintering and less mess than a grinder and wear a mask, dont breath the dust its evil.

On another note be careful with the glass on stack guages, I broke it on an all in one dash on a show car, spoke to stack and they said a repair ws not a problem, got it back in a couple of days along with a bill for £120

I take it that's WL Cooke in Station road.

I used to be in there all the time when I was doing my car, often with bits of it in hand with a "have you got a nut for this" request.

What those guys don't know about nuts isn't worth knowing.

Thanks for the advice,i know the feeling when you break the glass on the dash,i did the same with my old stack rev counter. I got it and put it in my dash on my nans kitchen work top,i laid it down for a second and accidently dropped it from a hight of about 2 inches and the kitchen top was tiled, smash! It was such a hairline crack that i didnt bother getting reapired especially at that price!
