2000e clutch type bellhousing
Hi all i have seen a cable clutch alloy bellhousing that mates to the 2000e gearbox. It also mounts the starter on the opposite side which really suits my needs.
Ebay item is an example from

My question is is this a standard bellhousing that could be available in cast second hand if so what car did it come from and does anyone know what the model ref would be stamped on it.
It seems an unusual combination for an aftermarket parts company to manufacture.
Thanks

Re: 2000e clutch type bellhousing
I would suspect you're looking for a bellhousing from the Capri 1600 or mk3 Cortina 1600. They use a single rail version(type 3) of the 2000e and cable clutch, I'm quite certain the bellhousing to gearbox bolt pattern of a type 3 is identical to the 3 rail 2000e.

Cheers I started digging further and got to that eventually. The Capri one seems to have a 3 bolt starter pattern but checking my starter on a spare rs one they still fit just missing out the middle bolt hole.
awaiting delivery of a cast one which is a lot cheaper than the reproduction alloy ones.
We shall see.
