Re: whats the best ratio .......
I was running a 3.75/1 but found that 1st gear is too short,so now gotta 3.44/1,cheap and plentiful too ,any 2.0 mk3 capri. puddy.

Re: whats the best ratio .......
Hi im running a 3:7:5 with 13's and my Brothers running the same ratio on 15's ive yet to try mine out but it got my brother into the 11's down the quarter because of the short gearing you get a better launch in 1st gear, each to their own i suppose

Re: whats the best ratio .......
Smiffy's runs a 3.09, it's a bit tall geared for track use or acceleration according to most "cough" experts "cough"
A lower ratio (higher number) will give more acceleration in theory but it depends on how the car gets the power down, if you can't use full throttle/ boost in lower gears cos it's spinning way too much it's all a bit academical really,
with that power output on a car as light as an Escort MK1 it doesn't really lose out much on acceleration, and it is so good at high motorway speeds.
That's the standard ratio for a 2.8i or 3.0 Capri, cheap and plentiful

Re: whats the best ratio .......
I run a 3.44, and mask runs a 3.75....
I'm on 16's he is on 18's makes it pretty even.
My 3.44 was good on 15's......
