Rollbars

Does anyone know or recognise this rollbar.



I thought it was just a std mk2 esc one n knowing I had a thicker mk2 RS2000 one (21mm over the original thinner 18mm bar) I thought id pull it apart n fit the RS one.



But as this pic shows the thinner (below) bar is at least 2 inch wider then an mk2 RS bar meaning I can?t fit it. (Because the outer rollbar clamps will overhang the ends)
Any ideas what escort it might be off?

2.8 Capri ones are a slightly different shape, they have a kink where the clamps go on, that one is probably off of a 3.0 S
Maybe a early 2.8 though

I'm sure thats another reason why the body might roll so much on my car? esp as it's thinner then a std RS one

Wyn I use a thin roll bar on my tracky, it's just a case of balancing roll bar against spring rates.
And on compression strut cars there is normally no roll bar, they use increased poundage springs.

But as my thing tends to dive n roll a lot I thought a thicker rollbar would help on that frt but the spring suggestion sounds easier.
As it is atm I?ve just removed the complete frt suspension again with the intention of getting some harder springs anyhow ? so could you help and recommend a suitable poundage for it (give or take a few grams lol)

btw, how do I go about buying springs the right height, as I had to cut mine to get the ride height looking more suited to a road car n not an off road 4x4

btw are you saying it might be to frt end heavy If so I don't know what I can do about that apart from diet

you could lower the back and or raise the front, are you on coilovers ?

Id like coilovers but I thought wheel to spring clearance might be a prob, unless I can have them so the spring platforms start from where the original platforms are?

My springs sit higher than the original ones !
