2.0l duratec and 6 speed Mazda gearbox, help needed.

    Hi guys.
Im planning on fitting a duratec onto the 6 speed Mazda box,im busy with flywheel and clutch and I need to know: the spigot shaft from the gearbox, does it fit perfectly into the duratec crank or must I machine it in anyway?or is it a straight fit?

    Cheers

The spigot bearing size which fits the duratec crank is 21x12.7mm if that helps

    Thanks Eric.
Do you know if the crank needs any machining? Or is it fine as is.am I correct to say a pinto clutch fits over the spigot 's splines and I can use that with my flywheel im making?

OK, question is which Mazda 6-speed box are you using.
I am using the MX5 NC 2006+ box, this fits straight on with integral bellhousing.
Spigot bearing is standard pinto unit
    Pinto clutch will work
Splines are same as Type 9

Sorry to hi-jack the thread but I am doing same conversion in my mk1, I have the 2.0 out of a 2009 Focus and going to buy the NC 6 speed. Will the standard fly wheel machined down be ok? I am going to turbo it so high RPM is not an issue, also will the standard FWD starter motor fit with the NC gearbox?
    Sorry again for the hi-jack
