my cars bloody german
Got nothing against all German cars...just VW.
I quite like my boss' S500 (even if it hasn't got a proper gearbox) and I think M3CSL's are the business.
OI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've got a mk2 Golf and its been the best thing I ever brought it's starting to get a bit tired now though but then it does have nearly 200,000 miles on the clock.
So? All I did was say that I hate VW. It's called an opinion. It's what makes things in the world different...otherwise, we'd all drive and own the same stuff and it'd be boring.
I've had two Nissan Micra's and I'm sure you probably hate those.
Ian just tell the 2 old men (Domg and I) to grow up and piss off
This after all the run of the mill section
Before I tell you two old fogies to piss off, how old are you? I want to make sure you are younger than me. I is 27 and 1/4.
Those FSO's had one good use, they where excellent when used as bangers.
I think the worst thing I ever drove was one of them Honda Acty pick ups, so called as when they broke down you just ' picked them up' and carried them home. Did excellent burn outs though, as long as you got a mate to pick the ass end up so that the tyres where just touching the tarmac.
Bloody hell didn't realise you were so sensitiveSo? All I did was say that I hate VW. It's called an opinion. It's what makes things in the world different...otherwise, we'd all drive and own the same stuff and it'd be boring.

Nissan Micra don't really have an opinion except that the new one is bloody ugly
Worst car I've ever a driven:-
A Trabant.
If the vibrations didn't kill you, the emmsions would !!!!!
Read this and thought that I must be able to top that, considering my past career as a mechanic, and the sh1t I've owned over the years but it's a tough call.
When I think it through the lada experience was pretty bad (front wheel fell off), the citroen vans were also pretty bad (but they're french so they don't really count as cars), I don't like escort cossies (so call me names - they're boring, expensive and underpowered in std trim in my opinion), the old skoda felicias were rubbish but for 50p what do you want... hmm.
So bearing in mind I had a tr7, a mini, a capri 1.6, and a ford focus I have to say the worst ever was either the rolls or the v8 merc. The merc was like a boulshy race horse - would barrel up to the corner and then refuse (to stop corner or anything else other than straight on), whereas the rolls... Definately the rolls (the merc was real crap) but the rolls was the wost thing ever - apply any of the controls (throttle brakes steering - whatever) and wait (for about a week) for a response. Add that to the fact that everybody looks at you (presumably thinking look at that tw*t in the big fat stupid car &/or why isn't he stopping I'm crossing the road - see comments on delay) so you can't get away with it, and the cost (I paid nearly £200 for a simple bearing for that thing!) Rolls is officially the worst car ever conceived of in my opinion.... Which model was it? I neither know nor care, they're all the same to me.
I think that I can be proud then to be British - the French make some real crap, but they don't get away with selling it for 6 figures to big fat tw*ts with more money than sense...
A yugo 55
eeeerrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh! Just had to move a Nissan Micra . It was a special edition hollywood, in gay blue with no power steering.
Nissan Micra as a rally car!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still looks
I am not sure about Dom but I is 39
and your response did make a tired old man LOL
ford gt 40 just because it was'nt mine
Power steering? On a Micra? I seriously hope you are joking.eeeerrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhh! Just had to move a Nissan Micra . It was a special edition hollywood, in gay blue with no power steering.
Neither of my two Micra's had PAS. The Micra doesn't need it. It's tiny with unicycle width tyres for crying out loud.
And you have the nerve to call the colour gay.
I passed my test in a micra with power steering! And yes the colour is gay! I happen to like power steering, great invention that, hence the reason i noticed the fact it didnt have it. You dont happen to drive a micra do u?
Nickiys mum has a power steered automatic micra wiv one of the elastic band gearboxes, you have to remember it dont hold on hills like a normal auto, i had to drive it to clacton once, that was a horrible experience!
mind you it would have been written off when it got clumped up the back if it hadnt been equiped with both the assesor said.
Power steering is great...on cars that need it. I've driven several Micra's with PAS (courtesy cars) and I've found them to be over-assisted.I happen to like power steering, great invention that, hence the reason i noticed the fact it didnt have it. You dont happen to drive a micra do u?
As mentioned, I've owned two Micra's. Nice little cars for what they are. I've certainly found them to be better a drive than Corsa, Nova and Polo. Not as good as Fiesta though.
As you will notice from my signature, I'm now running a knackered old Rover.
i probably wouldnt of minded the micra if i hadnt been given it as a courtesy car while my impreza wrx was in having the clutch changed, i thought with courtesy cars it was normally like for like??????
Nah, the idea with courtesy cars is to find the smallest, cheapest model in the dealers range. Get the lowliest engine, a spartan trim level and then add a daily hammering.
nissan 100nx! bag of poncy sports car wanna be
Good call.
I love my Nissan's more than most...but I really can't see the point of the 100NX. If you want a coupe, why not get a MX-3 or Puma and actually get a bit of performance?
got it . I been thinking about this thread for a while now then eureka...
Datson 100A automatic in purple.
About 15 year ago! Bloke wanted 300 quid. I got out after driving around the block and told him to stick the rusting anemic pile of shit. No sterring, no brakes and the worst suspension I have ever encounterd. Pig trough on wheels and I will not go on abnout the gearbox
the worst car i drove has got to be a manta gte!!
i thou8ght i was gonna fall out if it when it eventuarly gathered speed!
I once drove a Manta GTE home from Slyfield auctions in Guildford about 15 years ago. Some punters must have been checking the engine out,cos 2 miles from the ring the bonnet flew open and busted the screen
ha ha ha, see what i mean? what a well built extreemly fast car!!
Got to agree there also the engine block cracked , two gearboxes, headgasket, rad, shit trim, lacuer fell off,Most unreliable though has got to be the Peugeot 205 1.9 Gti i had... things just came away in yer hands !!!
and this was 10 years ago it was a newish car than
never gonna drive anything french again
Lee
Pug 205 1.1L E reg, unfortunately its my car at the moment.
Front right brake sticks when it feels like it
Heater fan+dash clock doesn't work when car frozen
Rear screen washer doesn't work
Exhaust rattles
Under steers
About a foot to much suspension
Leaks everything water, oil and petrol at one point.
Even my old Micra B Reg was more fun, stuck too road like glue ( well compared to the pug ).
left hand drive 1950's MG TD. wandered all over the road, drum brakes with only 3 wheel cylinders that worked, steering box with about 2.5 inches of free play in it, suicide doors that opened if you went over a speed hump too fast, even the goddam exhaust fumes made your eyes water..
all in all it was feckin terrible! i really cant understand why people love them so much when there in such a bad way! that shouldnt be on the road. period! lol!
austin metro. i hate the bastard things.
my dad says im havin one to learn to drive on cos, ' if you can drive a metro, you can drive anything'
steady
Metro... yeah i learned in one of them... bag o' crap the lot of them
Except if you stuff a cossie engine in em
worst car i drove was fiat 126, crap,smaill,slow...........dog.
I think the clio 1.2's are pretty cack! A mates got one and you sit too high, the clutch is stiff as, the throttle is so stiff its either off, on a yay bit, or nailed! The brakes stick you through the screen at the slightest tap, and i think it was slower than my 1300 x-flow mk1 escort thats 31 years old
Also is the old peugeuot 106, the girlfriends got one on a p-plate and its awful to drive! Pedal box is too far to the middle of the car (about where the clutch is in the mk1) the steering wheel is a little to the left, the gearbox is like stirring soup and its a kinda swivel and hope you find the right gear, and the clutch i swear if you tap it hard enough its so floppy it would hit the floor and bounce back to your foot! Find the bite yea right just keep your finger crossed more like And she wants to take her test in it Saying that though its a 1.1 and would blow the mk1 away easy as, i had this puppy nailed and hit about 60 in 3rd at half throttle
Mini 850 auto, drum brakes all round and it had a 100cwt bag of cement in the boot
Just driven an old transit heavy duty spec with the double wheeled rear axle. Must have the worst steering ever. Has almost quarter of a turn of play in the steering and feck all power. Now I know why white van men are so angry, takes about 5 years to get upto speed. Brakes were good though...
sierra azura I'm driving at the moment. got an xr4x4 but I do about 350 miles a week to work and back so a bit thirsty. and i needed some thing to run while my mk1 escort is off the road.
Drove my mates series 1 landy the other day, now that was a bloody adventure, not only is the steering about as vague as using a piece of lettuce, but the tyres dont really go where you point em anyway, not that they spend much time actually ON the road surface what with the zebedee style suspension.
Also the 1 inch thick seat paddin on the upright (non adjustable) seats has gone a bit flat now, although it didnt matter as because of the lack of leg room and the constant bouncing my arse wasnt on it for more than about 10% of the time.
Throttle control is a bit hit and miss too with the half siezed linkage being so stiff its on or off with no in between and the clutch somehow moved its bite point everytime you used it so the thing launched of the line up to its max speed of 27mph almost instantly.
The brakes are a bit grabby too, not that it matters too much cos of the aforementioned tyres and suspension problems.
oh yeah, did i mention the noise, and the draughts, or the smell of exhaust fumes?
