I'll go along with Mark and Rob as far as the FSO is concerned. I had the ultra-useful FSO Pickup derivative..........an absolutely EVIL tool, which was as much fun as a punctured lung, and as useful as an ashtray on a motorbike. Truly, truly horrid vehicle which should have been strangled at birth.
Had it 3 months, had nightmares for years.
Best car ever: 1989 Peugeot 405 Diesel. I did 190'000 miles in 8 years, and spent less than £200 in parts (including £90 for a new rad, but excluding brake linings and filters etc.) Still had zero rust on it when I got shot of it too, a truly wonderful vehicle.
A Corsa 3cylinder is my worst car.It doesnt do anything well, gutless, appaling handling, gearshift, very unstable.
They should take them all off the road and crush em.
an2003 fiesta
ford still have'nt learnt they alway's make the best car's in the first incarnation
anything else is pant's
Robin Reliant - was quite a laugh after getting over the shock of getting it on two wheels and almost rolling it at the first corner
Renault 2CV was a close second just because kids used to point and laugh
I hasten to add neither were mine but were part ex's in a garage I used to work in
At the moment my brother has a toyota carina 1.8 and its most definatly the dreeiest car i've ever driven.. there is nothing particularly good or bad about it its just plain bland!!! I drive an astra at the moment and it has some character because its crap!! but the carina is neither good or bad, its the kinda car that makes you fall asleep at the wheel even if your not tierd!!
Heres a pic...not of his but a carina
Hmm, I'd have to nominate the Fiat something-or-other that my mechanic will no doubt give me the keys to in the morning when I drop the Japmobile in for its MOT.
I think it's a Punto, but I've never actually looked. It scares me silly and the steering reminds me of a conversation I had with an ex-QE2 captain
The absolute worst thing about it though is the headlights. The styling on them was obviously given to the new boy in the design office who insisted on using every button in his CAD program to do it. When you switch them on, you have to get out and check they're working cos' there's no discenible difference from the driver's seat. The best bit though is the main beam - at first I thought it was an improvement, until I twigged that they just used a really powerful blue bulb in the dashboard to make it seem like everything had gone brighter
Out for a drive on a sunny spring day reminds me why I got this car
Hmmm driven some crap in my time, and havent even got my licence yet
A vauxhall frontera on an old airstrip near me. i think it was one of the bigger engines cos it was quick in a straight line, but when I cornered it, well lest just say there was a funny smell in the car afterwards
Another vauxhall this time a cavalier 1.4 on a carb called a pierburg or something, cornered like a barge without the barges steering response, wasnt quick either
my mums old renault 25 or something, auto 2.2 i think, was on the said airstrip, wasnt sure if it was a boat or a car, and i hate auto's
same with clio she had, 1.9 diesel no more comment(and it was purple)
my old 1.1 fiesta mk3, reversing it out of my driveway in a gale, it wouldnt even move, couldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding
theres probably more i just cant remember

Probaly my mrs old 03 plate clio, hated it always stalling it and genraly didnt like it at all.
The only way is sideways!!!
worst car was definatly my dads spartan kit car - based on a scalectrix car i think (maybe a spitfire).
i couldnt get in without my knee's being upto my head and it had no power - handled horrible - no front screen and was just a knightmare
How about the Moskvitch?? My local dealer had several unsold ones 10 years after they stopped making them!!
then there's the above and the Simca range, most of which were rusty BEFORE they were delivered to the customers I remember seeing hundreds of them at the docks in the storeage compound that was under 3ft of salt water
Citreon 2CV. gave £4 for it, drove it home, I thought it only had 3 gears, never did find fourth, my old boy drove it up and down our drive with the top rolled back doing an impression of Hitler on a victory parade.
Have to add to this list
Austin allegro: Drove it about 5 metres, turned it off got out and started dismantling it, it had speed holes in the wings, the suspension had leaked as soon as it moved so while it looked lowered it was actually fecked and...............it was lime green for fooks sake
Drove a bmw 316i tourer, god it was slow as hell but that probably had something to do with the cam being worn out
Havent driven many cars but a Citroen Relay 1.9D has to take the biscuit. it was soo loud the radio could not be heard above 45mph, it redlined jus after tickover and being french both windows collapsed in whn rolled down and the horn used to go off on left hand corners
I got a berlingo after a Citroen AX over took me up bluebell Hill followed by an Eddie Stobart Artic!
Think it shared the same underpinnins as the old "H" van lol
1380 or 1293 turbo
Drive a BMW? i'd rather Push My Mini!
escortmk5/6 1.8 diesel drove a load of them, slowest underpowered car i have ever driven. oh and all french cars are poo too.
I dropped a mates 106 1.1 off once.... it went left when accelerating and right when braking, all the synchros in the gearbox were long gone, ate front tryes, knocked and banged like it was being hit with hammers, had no handbrake, the seats were collapsing and it was gutless. Lovely.

One day people will stop asking 'Is that bit of your car supposed to be hanging off/leaking/on fire like that?'
Bumpy ride. My friend who is taller had his head knocked on the driver's roof!
ESCORT NUTTER
Penang, Malaysia
fiat 126.. i had to drive it home for my sister, she had bought it.. why.. i dont no.....
mg maestro, just a wallowing lump of gutless shit
had to keep the sick bags stocked up
Tata Gurkka... the indians attempt at an SUV type thing and my god it was terrible... based on a van with a pug 2.0 turbo engine. it went ok, just not up hills otherwise youd have to get into 2nd and it didnt matter if it was loaded or not.
the resonance in the back seats gave you a headache above 40mph, massive side windows also meant it was like sitting ina green house, with no decent ventialtion
the power steering had the biggest delay ive ever used, almost ended up in the verge several times because it didnt start steering when i thought it would, when it did steer it would slide and wollow. and then the gearbox, 'a stick in shit' is about a bigger complement i could give it
and then thers the build quality, Tata was proud that the design was inspired by Mercades (that is early 90s mercs) but everything inside was made from the nastyiest plastic, dials and buttons would break. central locking would activate when you closed the door (it wasnt supposed to) which meant keys being repeatedly locked inside. it happened so offten that we kept a coat hanger tucked behind the spare wheel so you could get back in.
i remember comparing it to the other car i was driving at the time (the tata was a farm vehicle really) and it wouldnt corner as well, would accelerate and wouldnt stop, it was also less reliable... my other car was a Lada!
shocking
maestro or montego are surely the shittest, you could loose the back end at 15mph,
saying that ive drove a disabled ladys car which was an auto pug 205, and it had the brake and accelerator swapped round, you had to drive it with your legs crossed to make it safeish, that was pretty grim
Okay so it's not a car but my money is on the truly, desperately awful machine that is the Mitsubishi Canter, we had two where I used to work and they really are very nasty. Engine sounds like a Hover mower on re-heat, the gear change is a dog leg arrangement were you have no real say on what gear your going to get, if you've got size 10 or bigger feet, your feet get stuck between the pedals and the seat base(highly amusing that one) and to top it all of because it was built for 4' tall communists you cant see out of the windscreen unless you break your back in five places. Oh yeah, and they are now sold by Mercedes which means build quality can only get worse!!!!
Bristol VR. Not technically a car, indeed not even close but drove one at work once. Had about 12 turns lock to lock on the steering, 6 inches of freeplay and wandered like a drunk, 5 speed semi-auto box, did 4mph flat out in 1st and 35mph flat out in 5th. Crap suspension and sounded like a nuclear powered pepper grinder.
Smelt like piss too.

One day people will stop asking 'Is that bit of your car supposed to be hanging off/leaking/on fire like that?'
1.0 metro - that was pure shite
1.1 mk3 fez - that was just crap in every sense of the word
1.0 nova - just dont go there !
Why hasn't anyone mentioned Proton's? Had one as a courtesy car once, fecking awful. And Perodua's, used to be cheapest car you could buy, so small you can wind down passenger side window from drivers seat without hardly reaching over! Also sound like a lawnmower, drives like one as well.
definately my worst car ever driven is a new Ford F150 that had been converted to right hand drive.
steering was jerky, and would not keep in a straight line and also had no feel at all.
it had the 4.6 petrol v8 but was absolutely gutless because of how much it weighed.
i'll honestly say that our 1966 holden premier (aussie tank) with a 186 motor, 2 speed powerglide trans and skinny wheels goes and handles far better.
id be curious to know how much better the f150's are before the are converted
mind you, its an awesome feeling to be driving around in a huge american v8 truck
Offerings to the God of Speed
My Wifes renault megan sceinic? 1.4 WHAT A PILE OF SHITE. She was supposed to get a Focus BUT!!! Cheers. Rick.
Simca 1100 has to be one of the crappiest I've driven. The engine sounded like a bag of nails. the tappets were so loud it hurt, and the gears were like stirring a pudding, never sure which gear you were going to next. awful. It wasn't my car tho! I also drove a reliant regal once, that was pretty awful as well. I used to work in a hotel, when I left school many years ago and used to take cars round to the car park for hotel guests.I drove my first Rolls at the age of 17!And have driven several rollers and bentleys since then.
Have to say the corsa c(i think thats what theyre called) is pretty naff, Has random selective gearbox, steering is a bit well indirect, not particularly quick either and that was a 1.5TD one.Now learning in a 1.3 TD punto and I cant believe im gonna say this but its actually not that bad. no power below 3000rpm but then the turbo kicks in and it goes like stink for the size
1.5td goes like stink ? you should lay off the rainwater for a while
1982 Renault 5 GLS. The suspension was so soft it used to roll around like a boat.
I was four up in it once and it refused to go around a corner - it listed to the right and I ended up going straight over the top of a traffic island and ripping the sump off.
If you read my post i said it goes like stink for the size of engine
Oh and its a 1.3 td, seems im not the one whose been at the rainwater
