Right its updat time as im waiting for some filler to go off and my hands are red from the cold!!!
Some rust i found the week before the mot
pics from the mot that were in another post
Some pics of my pistons being attacked by my lovely cam this is still in bits but gonna get onto it next week and sort it all out
The offending cam (the shiny one ) measured it as about 2.3mm more lift than the gt spec cam its next to and lots more duration as you can see now i just need to get it measured by a cam specialist and find out what it is
And then today i have been sorting the dents in the roof which i didnt notice when i sent the car off to the fillerman so i decided id sort the dents in the boot mark gave me (cheers mate ) and also some cack bits on the sill and a rust bubble on the door corner.
Ps dave im coming to get ya mate
See you on the 2nd
I'll be there, don't you worry (not sure what in though )Originally Posted by dangerousdave

Aaahhh, it seems like primer is allowed
good work dave... now get a hustle on - i need to get mine sorted for the shows!
Oh crap But its ok i think my bitch (mate) is back from uni on the 27th so il use him to helpOriginally Posted by Dave_Roberts
Any dont give me this seems like primers allowed its paint and its easy Plus it makes the car look 'ard, we can have our own corner.........if you finish yours in time
Plus mines prob gonna be primer for ages if i got to put new wings on and rebuild my a panels maybe paint it at the end of summer. And i think this winter im gonna stick it on a spit and sort the underneath....but for now i got to sort the engine and maybe a stainless exhaust.....not sure i can hack exhaust vs gearbox mount vibrations all the way to essex
Oh and i still need a sensible insurance quote
And as for you mark, are you incapable thanks to "mr shakey hand man" syndrome??? And i will be nailing your car this summer when theres some heat to the light and i dont have any college work
Just read this from start to finish
Top work fella
Looks good
Just a Heads up...... dont leave it in primer too long....primer absorbs water as does filler wouldnt want you to have to do it all again
Cheers
Dom
Cheers dom
hopefully it wont be too bad lol, might just have to blow a guide coat over it, that would stop it right?
Satin lacquer Dave... still looks like primer then
Laquer..wont that be a bit of a pig to rub down when i come to paint it?
Was thinking of just quickly blasting it over with some spare silver so its got a bit more than a guide coat but not a full coat?
You just want me to keep it in primer
thought you had a DA? who gives a shit about rubbing down?
just finish the damn thing so i can get mine out for classic ford show lol!
Yea but da's are viscous things mark and also my compressor only powers it for about 45 seconds and then its like the batterys are flat....and my compressor isnt small
Cf show.....youll be lucky what do you need me to help with i thought u just got to send it off to the body shop or u still have lots of things to fit up? U best pull your finger out mate
nah, not much mate... got a few bits to fit up then it'll be ready for paint i think. then once it's back i just have to put it all back together again!
Hurry up and get it painted then, and il be round...hopefully in mine
Here we go some pics in the sunshine today painted in all the black/ orange bits from where i did some filler work! Looks like a new car again Ps primer is the best colour, if you get some flys stuck to the paint or dirty stains, no need for washing up liquid...just get some p600 out and flat them out
Are you trying to get the post count up by posting twice?
Looking good mate.
What colour are you going to paint it?
that is the top coat dave
Just needs a coat of laquer
Looking good though Dave
No i just thought it looked so good i wanted to show you it twice actually i dont know i just clicked post and it didnt work so clicked it again and then it said you can only post every 20 seconds!?!Originally Posted by Dave_Roberts

Na i had that shit on my mk1 about 2 years back
Anyways this is not through choice its to cover up the nice hole left by a stone on the motorway £40 and a month later and one is fucked

Update time
As some of you might have seen i managed to get a genuine ford rubber front spoiler for the beast for £28 delivered it was cracked in two places one big one tiny, anyway a few hours later its all fibreglassed up strong and fillered it and all the extra holes someone had drilled. Managed to get a good few layers of primer on it today and put it on makes it look sooooo much harder
Also bought a stick on aerial from halfrauds for £15, thought its a bit expensive but after sticking it to the underside of the dash (where an rs clock pod would be) and plugging it in i think its worthwhile i was getting slightly pissed off with the same cd playing over and over so now i can cruise up to the pod nicely (with my vibration )
Anyway pics do the talking:
Before
After
When you said you were putting that spoiler on, to be honest I thought to myself "why?".
I've got to say it looks good mate.
Those front spoilers finish off the Mk2 nicely
Looking good Dave
Thats much better, flat fronts look bare without a mex spoiler
Looks good Dave, how did you get on with the brackets ?
www.RWD-Escort.co.uk
I was a TS overhauler
Looks cool dave
How much did that spoiler cost and where did you get it
Also have you decided on a colour yet?
looks good dave , now buy a new bonnet !!!!!
Spot on dave, loving the pimp primer n overrider look
Cheers Dave to be honest i liked the clean lines of it without it....but the passengers front corners a bit wavy and the seams are a bit minging but yea it does make it look less pointy and this ones much better looking than the one i got with the car
Kev, ratters cheers guys wasnt too sure it would look good when i had it offered up when it was red but now its been converted to the darkside (primer ) it looks very
Rob...the brackets.......erm havnt bothered yet Il do it when i paint it?!?! To be honest its pretty damn solid with just them two side bolts, might not bother with the bracket
Matt im sure i told you about 20 times now!!! and the same goes for the colour.......actually i have changed my mind!! Im painting it in primer...wahey its finished
And gaz your just jealous you know you want me to chop your bonnet up with my hole cutter
And ian ford pimped it with the overriders from the factory
And gaz your just jealous you know you want me to chop your bonnet up with my hole cutter
[/quote] . i'll be checking your pockets for drill bits at the weekend dave
are you camping??? (if you hear a grauncing noise....it wasnt me
looking good Dave
Gaz - i've been telling him that for months!
i've even offered him my spare bonnet!

I did say that you probably wont need the brackets, they are a nice tight fit with the bolts and screws in place
