Mark, I dont think you've got to worry about a helper at the Sprints... infact i reckon you could almost be a Prima Dona race driver, Dave turns up and get the car ready and you just arrive and driveOriginally Posted by dangerousdave
And Dave... you wont be saying its that big when your squeezing a T5 in there some time in the future
sounds that way doesn't it?Originally Posted by retromotorsport
T5 will definitely be on the cards at some point... can't see the type 9 lasting forever!
Hehe well you gotta help those that are less fortunate, i mean its probably the last time mark will see the underside....last time he got down far enough to look underneath he spent a week under there getting the underseal off Plus he might fall down the stairs and bust his ankle again so i best take care of everything stressfull.......yea right :hugh:
Il help after my cars a bit further on :p only cos i need to make me spraybooth (scaffolding and blue tarpaulins ) and get the car painted before the really bad weather comes
Oh and i think my bro has a few castaway t5's spare that are missing a few synchros oh and i remember him saying they are fooking heavy....cheers for roping me in guys
Dave, being serious now... have you thought of getting your sprint licence too? Then you and Mark can help each other out at the sprints, you'll be in different classes so you'll run at different times. I want to get a big showing from TS out in the sprints over the next few years, At the moment we have Jimbo and Tel Donovan (allthough tel hasnt made a post yet) out there, I'm hoping to pull in a few others that are allready out there, but I want regular posters to join in.
you know it makes sense Dave
Yes im very interested was thinking the other day about buying a trailer between me and my brother
Need to get the car reliable (and finished!) first but after that it would be cool.....but what are mods restrictions like? i will be running megajolt ecu with only an old bolt in cage (2 bolts per cage foot) with no stickers on, etc etc and then the turbo engine!
But definately wanna be "using" the car in some form ie trackdays and that
When Marks up and running and your cars ready drive it to a sprint and the scrutineer will have a lil looksie around it for you... go from there
Will do definately, but i think it will be a lot of money to get it legal which i wont really have for at least a year after its finished and insured!
How strict are the rules roughly just so i get an idea or a link to the rules?
I am sure i will be talked into this too very soon ??
If you are running in the road car class you'd be suprised how little you need to do. A decent cage (not always needed but you probably should) and fire extinguisher, then get suited and booted, speed licence and not a lot else.Originally Posted by dangerousdave
Great fun and you haven't got to abuse the car unless you want to (and you will)

When you say a decent cage does that mean a new one with stickers? As thats what im worried about and i dont really want to sell it as its practically all fitted up in the car, was going to weld in the mounts for it this week!
Ive replied on your thread "my new toy"
Sorry Dave, all I meant was a full cage thats not too old or abused (some of the old ones had 2 bolt holes only in the feet for example, and I think they all need a minimum of 3). Also seen some dodgy welding and additions to what were perfectly good cages before. Seen a few cars not running cages at all in the road going class but at the end of the day the cage will protect the driver and save the car if it has a light roll. What one have you got?

no way i'd do it without a cage myself!!!
Gary's installed the race rear end now.. as well as the raised boot floor for the fuel tank
