Re: 1700 xflow running temp
My 1600 sits at half unless i find traffic and then sticks up at 3/4 or just below red and then when i turn it off it spits the contents of the rad water out Happened 3 times today so i put in me leccy fan

Re: 1700 xflow running temp
One of my old mk2 escorts used to do the same. It was my only car at the time and was great fun (not) in the winter when I parked up somewhere to see the shock on the faces of pedestrians when all that steam blasted out form underneath as I walked into the paper shop etc.
I did this for a month or two then one day the head gasket went.

Re: 1700 xflow running temp
All the water was coming out the excess drain tube thing next to the cap My fan seems to keep it at a constant temp if put on when it gets hot, so today as is boiling again i think ill stick it on when the car gets up to temp Oh and its a piece of piss to fit, just make up mounts, even if its cable ties! and then wire a switched positive (switch in car) and negative to earth (mines on one of the rad bolts)

Re: 1700 xflow running temp
In my x-flow mkII i have an old fiesta fan and that does the job
no probs best to have it on a switch and have a good
temperature gauge though having on all the time will drain
loads of power
