    Re: Rainbow of colours ...

    Thanks guys !

I was having a go at putting the swage line down the middle of the body - I think I am happy with how it turned out. To show it off ... I have made a real SLEEPER With old style rims ...

I am also modifying the rear ... slowly getting there.

    Re: Rainbow of colours ...

Just seen the colours on page24 : that is so awesome I am seriously going to consider the black and blue for merlin when the inevitable happens and the respray cannot be put off - fantastic! Brilliant tool for getting new ideas at the very very least!

    Re: Rainbow of colours ...

Dave in this pic the centre caps are too big (im assuming they are lotus steels? Also the front 1/4 light pointy corner is too pointy. Apart from that..the swage lines come out perfect i think and think it looks well tough Any chance of that pic with the car lowered another 1"?? Basically so the rim edge is nearly under the arch at the back and the front dropped the same

This pic of mine should help you with the shape of both windows as i know you were saying you had trouble with the shape of the back side one too

UPDATE ! and a colour scheme

Thanks Dave ! Well spotted with the front door windows. I never noticed that ! Keep 'em coming !!! I'll get around to the side window creases at some point too.

I have started to adjust the windows - still some more to do.

I have been adjusting the front panel again. Now MUCH happier with how it looks. Also added the crease just above the sill.

Here is an adjusted pic for you. Lowered (only about 1/2 inch - I'll do a lower one later), with smaller hub caps - almost looks naked in simple white and those wheels . At the moment it looks like it is floating slightly - that is an effect of the renderer, when I render at high res (takes longer time) it all looks fine.

and here ... you can see the new front looks GOOD. I think it looks MUCH better

and playing around with a black colour scheme, checkered flag - with grey grill ... :

    Re: Wallpaper - Modena Green

might make it look less floaty if you made the bottom of the tyres slightly flat on the bottom and bulgy on the sides, i always used to push the rubber tyres of my static models down on a hot piece of metal to achieve the same effect, makes loads of difference to the realism of em.

Re: UPDATE ! and a colour scheme

That's looking really good now, especially the one that looks just like my car

Still needs the dimple/cut out under the door handle. I posted a picture ages ago. You can clearly see it on the picture of Dangerousdaves car a few posts up.

    Mexico ....

popuptoaster: Good idea for a real model. I've looked into doing that with mine ... Bit tricky.

Willid1 : Yup ... added the little indentation - might not be exact but it is there now.

On a bit of a roll .... created Mexico stripes ... and red calipers ...

If you think of a unique paint scheme ..... suggest it ! And I might try it.

    Re: Mexico ....

looking totally stunning the mex stripes run over the roof too though, and they look like they need to be wider to me

other than that, just needs to be le mans green one with black mex stripes, 4 cibies and sitting on the 4 spokes, with the number plate SLP 706L

    Mexico and FLAMES !

Alright .... Here are two more views.

This one as Ford intended (with slightly wider RS alloys, changed striping and all Mexico badging) :

And this as popuptoaster suggested ! Bit hod-roddy for me ...

What do you think ? Don't call me about the flame job ! You know who to blame for that !

    I couldn't resist - it was a good challenge !!!

mex with flames, what more can i say, you are truly a god, mate you should go into bizness, once you have made up a repertoire of cars with various mods, sell blank canvasses on ebay and let the winner choose the scheme, youd make a mint

    Mexico - Evolution :)

Thanks for all the feedback !!!

Had a bit of time over the weekend

I totally scrapped my old light grill - made a new one. While I did that I also made a square light grill (Now have a choice of eound or square lights). Also added the little panel under the windscreen wipers. And other tweaks ...

Had a little go at big wings ... and added a few other period modifications

    3D Update !

    Thanks for the comments ...

Sorry, I don't have time to post all the colour/wheel combinations people would like but I'll try and post something from time to time. As I said earlier I will finally be getting one of these images (White/Blue RS2000) printed at large scale for myself ... when I get a cost - I'l post it here !

Here is the latest update. I finalised the front grill, subtly altered the RS alloys to 7'', tweaked the front lights and side window indents ...

    Re: 3D Update !

Blimey the quality on the yellow mex Even the tyre walls have the little lines in

Another point The window area.....erm hard to explain without pictures (as my cars sold ) Under the side windows and above the body line its very convex (think thats the term) as in the overall shape of the car bulges one way and that section from the bottom of the windows on the side to the top body line that comes from the wing tops curves the opposite way to the overall shape.

Hope you can make sense of that, was well hard to try and explain....ill look for a pic to help lol

    Behind the scenes look

Hi Guys ... thanks for all the feedback ... I've put together a small website to show what I am working on :

    http://www.dmmultimedia.com

Pop over and have a browse .... there is a little gallery showing some different colour schemes. Feel free to give me some feedback.

DangerousDave : You have a good eye for this That slightly convex surface was not so noticeable in my model so I made it more pronounced. It is still not very noticeable in the rendered pics - just the way the light is falling but you can see that it is now there in my flat shaded (behind the scenes) image below. I'll continue to fine tweak it. Keep the crits coming !!!
