in fact, that whole forum has LOADS of fords on it.
Fantastic !!!!! THANKS PopupToaster !! GREAT ! That's one I owe you !
I had a look earlier - but without registering I didn't see the blueprints section. Didn't make that mistake this time !!!
I was just mucking about earlier this evening from memory, about 1.5 - 2 hours :
and now have the real things (quickly pasted together from different sources) :
I'll finish the Escort .... but I am VERY tempted to do a Capri Mk1 RS3100 Just LOOK at that long bonnet - and that power bulge ! No doubt, that was obviously designed by a bloke
I had a quick look and couldn't find any good MKII Escort or, in particular, any MKII RS2000 prints But found a cracking big-wing MKI Escort !!!!! Wish I had that earlier !
Dave
mk1 cortina after that would be cool
top job once again!!
Hi all,
I thought I would have a go at these wheels. They will come in handy for whatever car I make next.
MK1 Capri and/or MKII Escort
Dave
I think you should start a new thread for each car matey, cos this ones getting a bit confusing, lol.
Mike
105E Anglia !!! Please !
I can get you the origional body alignment diagrams
In fact i have a rough model of it allready and of a mk2 escort if it's anyuse to you. I used to model for ukdirt. I made the cortina and sierra sapphire saloons...
Cheers
Craig
Ok .. have a look at these and see if you can tell what I have changed ? It is a major moving around and reshaping ...
If you compare these images with previous ones you will see that I have shortened the nose ! By a few inches. Quite tricky to do ... but a lot easier than real life I was sitting looking at the model and thinking that something was not quite right ... but now, I think it looks a lot better.
I can draw a MK1 in my sleep now ....
Dalek, If the plans you have are in the same format as above, i.e. a plan, side and end elevation - yes, why not. You can never have too many good quality blueprints.
Boxxer ... When I am starting on the next model I will make a new thread
Dave
Much much better dave...and to think it was hardly noticible anyway before!
Oh another little thing!!...the rear corner of the door drop glass is curved not square
DangerousDave: A Ha ! Ok, I'll have a look at the doors. Bit tricky to change as I will also need to change the rubber surrounds too !
I have adjusted the nose even more And had a look at MK1 Alloys - I needed to add some black paint ! Have a look now :
Still adjusting .....
Dave
Well spotted I knew something wasn't quite right but couldn't put my finger on it.Oh another little thing!!...the rear corner of the door drop glass is curved not square
Here you go Dalek
What do you think?
that looks the nuts.
here is my mk2 escort
Ludsonline ... nice
Do you have blueprints for a Mk II Escort ????
Dave
Ok ... curved the side windows and a few other small tweaks here and there. Re-did the heater bowl in the engine compartment and tweaked the RS alloys further and added the RS logo to hub cap ....
Almost ready to take her to her first show
Dave
One thing dave, and im actually surprised that no-one has mentioned it up to now.
Your bonnet has no strengthening framework or locking catch, wibbly wobbly bonnet
wouldnt be to happy with that at speed
heres a pic of big daves BDA masterpeice to give you an idea
Dave nail on the head there man....outside is looking very very close to perfect now Just a little work under the bay with the bulkhead area and it will be near enough ready to start priniting off for peoples orders Oh and hurry up with the mk2 as ive now turned to the darkside after selling my mk1 and am getting quite in love with my harrier so put me down for a silver one once you get round to the mk2
Looks superb m8Here you go Dalek
What do you think?
I was playing around with different colours and came up with this browny bronze ...also now added the Mexico roof stripes, and in this example some bonnet pins ..
I am very nearly finished with the model. Almost ready to test print a nice big one for myself
Dave
is this any help for anyone?
Cheers,
Tepi

can you do one with all the body work chromed? just to see what it'd look like
Dave, if you do fancy doing a big wing MK1 there loads of pics of Big Daves BDA on my site taken from all angles - just click the sig and go to The CarsBut found a cracking big-wing MKI Escort !!!!!
Andy
Tepi : Thanks !!!! That's very helpful. I am very keen on doing a MK1 Capri next .. unless I can find a good set of MKII Escort plans anyone ???
Andy : Yes, I saw the link you posted and had a good look. I'll certainly use them for reference if I put big wings on. I'm itching to start a new model now though ..
Popuptoaster ... Chrome See below. Chrome is always difficult in 3D ... and when people are learning to paint. It is defined almost entirely by what it reflects not the actual colour of the chrome ! So I have had to give the chrome something to reflect. Little bit of artistic liberty ... but it looks OK ... Move over Jaguar with their polished alloy XJ
BigJay, have a look below. I was trying a few things today so tried to match your colour - had to look in another post for your reg no ! I couldn't read it either from your sig. You must eat a power of carrots
I then tried it with all the wheels I have made - I see that you are thinking on what to use ... this should give you more food for thought ..
Steel Wheels :
Classic:
Standard RS (my favourite - just looks R I G H T) :
Standard RS alloys with centres colour-coded :
7" RS alloys :
Bit of bling ! 15" Split rims
And why not .... Chrome the lot !
Dave
