Nice car, unusual colour whats the story there then? Is it battery in boot and remote servo model?
hi all
shes a jan 72 model and as you say batt in boot and remote servo - tawney was an optional colour and is very rare.
they also did some rs1600's in tawney.
This was mine at 7.15 this morning, just had a nice drink of 4*, hopefully I'll be there if there are no major disasters.

Willid, I saw your car at the show today looks very nice, my missus spotted you had a Vospers sticker in the back window, so it's a Plymouth car then.
Looking good!
You've got her well trained .my missus spotted you had a Vospers sticker in the back window, so it's a Plymouth car then
Yes it was registered in Plymouth and it's first owner was the managing director of Vospers Motors (apparently all the Vopsers family cars had 77 in their number plates for some reason).
I got Vospers to send me the sticker but they had no further info about the car other than that both the MD and the sales director remembered it.

Well I grew up in Plymouth, I do remember seeing a Twincam once in Plymouth it was in a carpark, all I remember about it is that it was white with a rollcage in it, just seemed different to all the mexicos around in them days.
Within about 6 months it had been modified to rally spec, seats, wheels etc, and also a black bonnet which it seems you had to have back then.
Looks like it had a rear cage at this stage
This work was carried out by Vopsers for a guy called Robin Ould who I think was a yacht broker.
This is one of the earliest pictures I have of the car. Wouldn't it be mad if you'd seen my car all those years ago.

Those capped steel'ees look well smart with that colour
They compliment each other to the ground ,,,, u know like nuetral colour with classic wheels
I LIKE IT
cheers antony - still may re-fit my alloys as i think it brightens the bottom have of the car up
Nice!! are you bringing the Mex to RSOC National Day Vinny? agree with the wheels comment - it looks well with the steels & chrome caps, didn't think I liked Tawny before but looking at those pics it does look great in that colour, especially with the black stripes.
