How can you tell if u ave done a 1/2 shaft ?

At the end of the track day @ Combe I came out flying from the last chicane and thought I had lost drive in all gears ! When I was rolling into the pits I noticed I had very slight drive (about 1 or 2 mph). Ithought I had done the box or the clutch....

But maybe it is just a 1/2 shaft snapped as the diff has gone a bit loose too.

Apart from removing the shafts (which I will be doing on Monday), is there an easy way to know ?

I jacked up one side of the car, other wheel still on the ground and I could spin the wheel, surely you shouldn't be able to do this with a LSD ?

I have some spare shafts for a wide Atlas, so I now need a wide atlas casing.. anyone got one ???

When you say spin the wheel , do you mean you can spin it really easily by hand and it keeps going by itself ?

If so - halfshaft is broken.

Yes Rob, so easy i went to push it and fell over as I didn't expect it to move , lol

Thats good news then, cheaper than a clutch !! and I was gonna get a wider axle anyway.

What axle have you got on the car a the mo' then Mark???? I assumed it was sitting on an Atlas already.....

If your speedo works its the halfshaft/diff, if it dont its the 'box or clutch.

yes mate, its on an atlas, but this has been narrowed to fit undee std arches, and as u can see i dont have these anymore !!

didnt check speedo, and cant now anyway !
