Looking at the tube type seat mounts, what is the recommended thickness for the end plates and thickness of the tubes?

I know there are several places in the UK I can buy a kit and make it easy, but given the pound to the Australian dollar and shipping bits of steel to Australia why wouldn't I just some bits of steel down the road.

I made my own to comply with the FIA Regs

Although I used 32mm diam CDS for the bars as I had some on the shelf.
