Re: Fully floating axle
Put a standard Atlas under there, and get out and rally it. In a year or so you may find that it leaks but by then you'll have saved up for a full works one (if needed) These can be obtained from gartrac at around £4k. Like I said put a standard one under there. You could use a brace, gartrac sell these for a lot less than £4k or contact darren on here he may have one for £50 or so. Dont even think of using an English type. It will break.

Re: Fully floating axle
Stupid Q but why do the std atlas shafts snap?
Is it cos of the twisting forces or just because the cars take such a pounding over the rough stuff?
Btw, wheres the most likely place fore the std shaft to snap? Before or after the bearing?
Just preparing myself

Re: Fully floating axle
Steve, you dont have to worry about yumps anymore, you've tasted the tarmac, the wide open tarmac, no trees, no bridges built for a horse and cart taken flat in 5th, I am refering to your post about 'brunters' think you said "sod the rally's I like this track stuff", and thanks for explaing 'knock off' ,far to much typing for me

Re: Fully floating axle
Steve, I've got the same damn oil seal problem with fully floating set up. I've tried upteen new oil seals to no avail. Thing is it's only on the one side, the otherside is exactly the same but works perfectly??
I now convinced that the halfshft is actually worn at the point of contact of the oil seal, but surely a bit of rubber wouldn't wear it down, would it? Or is this a sign of twisting in the shaft?
Have you found a fix for yours yet?

Re: Fully floating axle
Sorry to drag up an old thread but does anyone have a cure for leaking semi floating hubs?
