    XFLOW

    XFLOW CR

Are those figures with a flat head or chambered head?

I'm aiming for about 120hp out of a 1300xflow. dont think it is so impossible cause we have 1300(4k engines) starlets and 1200(A12) datsuns making that kind of power, here.

    power/weight ........120/820*1000=146bhp compared to a 2l pinto 120/975*1000=117bhp.

Any tips and advice(all positive) about building this engine would be appriciated.

ps. is there a book on modding xflow engines and any help websites around??

    Re: XFLOW

U can get 100+ bhp from a 1300. U could probably get over 120bhp too, but then your talking all steel spec etc.

Was reading an old Ford Heritage Mag, had a 176bhp mexico mk1 in it. Yum

    Re: XFLOW

I think it would cost about the same to get 120bhp from a 1300 x-flow as it costs to get over 200bhp from a pinto. Not gonna be cheap as it will need to rev stupidly high to get the power. That will probably mean forged pistons, steel crank/rods, etc.

    Re: XFLOW

it wouldn't be that expensive really.

forged pistons (from 4agze) 25 pounds
Steel crank and rods if needed (l16 datsun) free
machine work to fit the steel parts free (do them at skool

money will come into play when vavletrain and cam are needed.

    Re: XFLOW

tuning tips for a XFLOW head??

I'm toying with the idea of 2lt inlets(1.657in) and 1600 SOHC exhaust(1.357in) in the flat 1300 head.

what should be done to the ports, when this mod is finished?
