Goodo! Did anyone see the Swedish Rally preview over the weekend? It ceases to amaze me how they can travel at about 70-80mph on snow and ice! Well they do get paid fortunes to do it.

They need to be skinny so they can dig into the snow and get some grip, a wide tyre would just sit on the surface and slide around.

Yeah, the tyres have little spikes on them also which get ripped of during the stage, don't look very nice those skinny tyres though!

A couple of years ago I went to see a mate in Gillingham as he had about 5"s of snow. Thought the old 4x4 would cope, err think again i was all over the place!

Well, actually they have HUGE spikes in them. Copared to normal studded tires I think they stick out about 10 times furter. And they don't have to be light-metal like road spikes.
