    Fitting Cossie Suspension

Has anyone ever tried to fit Cossie 2wd front suspension to a mk1 or mk2 escort?

Prob no one would want to (part from me n its only an idea ) just thinking it might be superior/stronger have better brakes as std plus be less fatigued say to what are now old escort parts

It's been done to a Capri so could be done to a Escort, but a lot of work as the mount differently for a start. You can still buy new struts for Escorts, you can get coilovers, you can get adjustables, you can get plenty of brake upgrades, so why make work for yourself?

You need to get shorter struts. I've looked at fitting some i have from a granada and they are too long. If the strut was about 1 1/2 inchs shorter then they may go it, but the TCA will also need to be longer to. I know it has been done but dont know wo did it.

    Why 5 link?
    Why convert to a 2.0?
Improvements yes n I believe this could be plus its something to do

Like I say it's only an idea atm. just the idea of having big 4 pots n bigger brakes as standard plus possibly stronger hubs might make it viable?

Btw, I compared an escort leg to a sierra leg n hub n like Rob said there's not a lot in it.
Looks like to use sierra legs you would need shorter springs + somehow adapt the lower balljoint sizes. The only thing that looked right out was where the camber angle would end up- I think it would end up with massive positive camber

Big Arches to cover the wheels m8. Not a bad thing though. Just some info for you. When i tried mine i use Escort Cossie rose jointed top mounts and by just opening out the old mounting holes they fit.
