    Wilwood 6pots on 13" minilites

    Hi all

Been asking alot of brake Qs recently and really appriciate the responses and info everyone has given me

I was going to but new midilite 4 pots with ferodo ds3000 pads but noticed on motorsport tools website that they do a superlite 6pot kit for 13" wheels

Im now thinking about the 6 pot calipers

Im thinking i can remount the 6s to my 265 disks

Ive looked at the wilwood drawings and compared the 6s to the 4s and it does look possible but was just wondering if anyone has wilwood 6 pots on 13" minilites ? If so what dia are your disks ?

    Many thanks 👍👍

i know this isn't the answer to your question but wouldn't you be better off just going straight to AP's in the long run.? Sell the wilwoods your running now and buy the ap's they are a much better brake than the wilwoods no matter how many pots they run.

Where are you looking?, Peter Lloyd do an AP kit for £1095 Rally design less than £1000, I thought the 6pots were around that price if not more??

the kit off R.A.C.E is around £1200 for a full 13" radial kit with decent ds3000 pads. It is the one all the escort boys in the lanes/rallying use and in my opinion you can't get any better under a 13" wheel. I hear about wilwood calipers creaking because they are flexing and nobody wants flex in the caliper when you need them most. I can half the distance of most car on the track and luke in this video really put them to use!

I paid around £1000 for mine, non AP discs with Mintex pads and Goodridge hoses.

The pads rattle a bit but a set of self adhesive anti squeal pads fixed mine.

I thought if i'm spending £1000 i may aswell spend the extra £200 or genuine disks and ferodo ds3000's too. I also had the goodridge hoses in with the kit.

The discs that came with mine are made by Tarox so just as good, prefer the Mintex pads for hillclimb too. Ds3000 are no use for me as I can't warm them up. I've used m1114's for yrs they are a good compromise.

thats fair enough i have had the 1144's in the past and they weren't good enough at high temps. I went for the 1155's then and they cracked every disk i put on the car but the stopping power was outstanding. I can't comment on how good the ds3000's are compared to the other two as this brake set up is totally different and superior in every way. We all have horses for courses.

Yeah, I rarely do circuit stuff, rally sprints and hillclimbs....the odd single venue rally. Getting brakes hot enough is my issue. Road pads would probably do the trick.

I thought i was the only one using 1155's, and I find them incredibly good also. 10 tarmac rallys, two track days, 3 hill-climbs, and 2 sprints and i'm only just changing them now as a precaution, i could probably get a few more events out of them!

They haven't cracked my disks thankfully, i'm using (genuine) brembo disks, not cheap but great quality.

the only discs I've seen cracked are cross drilled ones between the holes.

i run genuine brembo max disks, motor factor disks, mintex, tarox the lot but i didn't mind as i could run 14" wheels and they wouldn't crack that often.

Crack two, in the drivers side disk

That's what happens when you want to keep small wheels and disks to keep unsprung weight to a minimum. You can'thave it all see.
