    type 9 and zetec?

    Is this the best gearbox potion??? i didn't think they were that strong.. surely a t5 would be a better bet if you want to run some serious grunt?

    A Straight cut type 9 will be fine for 250HP and 8000rpm in N/A form.

    A T% is very heavy compared with the type 9.

    A type 9 from a 2.8i capri is good for around 200bhp cos they didn't change the gearbox for the turbo-technics conversion and thats about 200bhp and more torque than a zetec by far. Unless you drag launch your car off every traffic lights a standard type 9 will probably be fine for a zetec as long as its not too highly tuned.

    The 2.8 type 9 is not a direct fit though, you will need to either grind down the shaft as it it approx 1 inch longer, or get a spacer from Raceline.
