Yea some info in this will be apreciated as im busy rebuilding my front struts aswell. Also RMOz posted some pics of his adjustable front struts using standard springholders - and I cant seem to find the Thread
There just spherical bearings. The higher load rating the better, but more expensive.

A fair amount of car lowering can be had with mount above inner wing, without compromise to suspension travel
Some adaptors will be needed to fit Spericals, so they swivel, without bind.
I got some GE25ES-2RS from Midland Bearings (www.midlandbearing.com) only £5 a pair inc postage
