    Help needed.

    Hi all,
    I've a 1989 2.9 XR4x4, I bought a 1999 S-Type Jaguar today for its AJ30 engine.
    Any advice or pointers?
    I'm intent on keeping it AWD.
    Many thanks.

    dont think you will find a bellhousing to suit so will need a custom adapter plate, if you need a rear bowl sump use the xtype sump and pickup, if there are issues with intake clearance you can use the xtype or st220 one for more clearance.

    Isn't that engine basically a Ford Duratec V6?

    If so check this thread out;

    yeah its basically a rwd jagged up version.

    The gearboxes as fitted to the engine are not much use as they are a 1.1 top using big wheels and rear ratios to compensate.

    ECU's will be a pain as they tie into everything and there hasnt been much development work on them as not many jag people seem to tune there motors.

    S type intake is variable so will need to be accounted for with an aftermarket ecu, xtype and st220 are not variable.

    The other thing to watch is the variable cams, not much info out there but I did come accross something saying pre 2002 they are a simple switch variable and after that date they went to fully variable pwm, something to look into and consider as far as the ecu.

    The car I bought is a 99 model, I was thinking of maybe Emerald? for the ECU and (hopefully) keeping the MT75 transmission. ;-) Many thanks for the help.
