Re: Escort MK1 Propshaft
Hi Mate,
Not sure if this will help as mine, although fitted with an English axle, is fitted with a Type E/RS box.
The Tube length (weld to weld) is 41", Diff flange to g'box yoke is 51". Tube is 2.75" for about two thirds of the length and the rest is 2.5".
Like I said I don't think this info will assist you much as I would says yours is running a Type2 Three rail box which I think is shorter hence you having a longer prop than me.
Have you thought about having a new prop made as there's nothing to say the second hand one you buy couldn't be bent too.
These guys; http://hartshill.cylex-uk.co.uk/comp...-16962677.html who were local to me when I was in the UK, made me a new one piece prop which was spot on. All I gave them was the old two piece, they retained and refitted both yokes with new UJ's and it was all just as reasonable as buying a second hand one. They don't have a website but they're a bunch of old boys in a shed, which are normally the most knowledgeable!!
Hope this helps,
Ad

Re: Escort MK1 Propshaft
I think to have still mine original propshaft somewhere.
'72 Escort mk1, 1.1 engine, 4 speed gearbox, one piece shaft. Rear axle I think should be Koln (?) being a german escort.
It is perfect, changed only due to Type 9 'box.
In case, but I suppose delivery would be rather costly due to italian post...

Re: Escort MK1 Propshaft
I took it to a guy who works on escorts and he's going to try and arrange it for me, or look for a replacement part. If that doesn't work out I'll definitely be interested in yours if it's what I need!
Shipping isn't a problem as I can use a HUB address in Milan. Thanks for the offer, and i will be in touch if plan A doesnt work out!
