All depends on the power you are asking the fuel supply to produce! Dash 6 ptfe is about 6mm ID and has coped 'just' with 350hp on one installation I did - really should be bigger for comfort!
Can you use 8mm microbore plumbing pipe it's copper?

6AN 3/8" is plenty good enough for 600BHP

I use 6AN for supply and return on cos N/A, as found on this forum.
Many are using AN8 for supply, but with around 220hp, I thinks this is not required.
Copper for fuel pipe.....only if you want a fire.
Just because it can work harden with vibration and fracture, I always try and avoid using copper even for brake pipes. Cunifer is better, but for fuel pipes I'd always use something where vibration or impact won't be an issue.
TBH i think your looking at the theoretical problem that doesnt really exist, certainly not if you clip the pipe to the body rather than leave it flapping in the breeze.
Anything CAN fail, its hard to get better fittings than Goodridge, but ive had one develop a fuel leak, a mate of mine had a wrc escort catch fire ( thankfully no real damage) again with a faulty top quality fuel pipe fitting that cracked, whilst ive never had or known of an issue with loads of cars running copper fuel pipe, so on that basis i'd say that £10 worth of B+Q copper pipe is safer that £500 worth of aeroquip.
if using copper pipe and rubber hose i always solder an olive on the end of the pipe, that makes a nice smooth flare so theres no danger of damaging the hose or it coming off
Just for reference, working with TVR's back in the late 90's, I noticed they used 8mm micro bore copper pipe for fuel on all their cars, the Cerbera AJP 4.5 V8 ran fine, so I'm sure our classics will be ok.
Picking up this old thread to ask this question again. Although most tend to use 8AN for the feedline, I'm tending to agree with Clint. Surely, with a high pressure pump, smooth bore pipe, and gentle radius bends, 6AN should do the trick?
I'm in the process of plumbing lines for a 2.5 Duratec with turbo and was planning on using 6AN for feed and return. What do folks think?

How much clearance is there between the spring and the 90 deg, fitting into the tank? One good bump - could be tragic!
Plenty, just looks deceiving in the photo. Hanger would basically have to go horizontal to have any effect as it’s hard up against the chassis
