Alright cool, so I have a mk3 xr3i and the fuel relay has packed up.Can I use any relay or does it have to be a fuel pump relay and if it does have to be a fuel pump relay then can any fuel pump relay work or does the xr3i have a specific one?

Could say for sure if its installation specific or not - sometimes manufacturers tie all sorts of circuits together! With aftermarket ECU's a simple std 4 pin relay does the job - battery to 30, pump to 87, ign 12v to 85 and 86 to ECU (switched to ground to operate)

I'm looking up to updates and here's my little effort.
Here is a fuel rail from a '93 mondeo 2liter. I've also bought an intake of some zetec escort, supposedly 1.8, rail and injectors are same. Both are sidefed. The scoprio 2 injectors also does look the the same.

I've also had some 4age injectors (from silvertop lump i guess), but bodies differs.

I also know the later cars had top feed injectors, but can't say anything about that yet.
    It rusts!

Can anyone confirm fuel rail interchangeability? I have a 2.0 s2 silvertop with an escort intake and fuel rail wich is sidefed. I want to know if somebody has done a topfeed conversion i.e. if the black top rail will work.
    It rusts!

SCS-Delta might be a good source for fuel injection / engine management systems:
