    XE MK1 Van

In the middle of this conversion... Just wondering, are people using an Oil cooler as part of this install!? As the Vauxhall engine i have already has the outlets for this above the oil filter!?
I have a Modified head which has had the distributor housing machined flat at the back, so i assume i have got to fit a blanking plug!? Are these available? Finally, with regards the Cams, do kent do a modifed item minus the drive for the distributor?
Fortunately i have had a result and got myself a pair of webber alpha's, with loom, ecu, fuel pump etc for £600! Thus freeing up a few pence for the build!
Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Ben-i have the oil cooler still from my donor car and will be trying to mount it somewhere on my escy.
I got an xe chassis mount kit off ebay other day-with the dizzy blanking plate-but this is for a standard head with the mounts still cast into the head-it hasnt been machined-so i guess you'll have to get a plate made up-not sure if they are available to buy?If your heads had the machining the exhaust cam will now be too long and needs shortening as you know-can be cut behind the final cam carrier as far as i've heard-no need for the final one.
Also the cam has an oilway which fed the dizzy-this needs blanking with a ball bearing,or plugged somehow-maybe Tom can be more helpful (FOSSIE)

Heres the plate-SBD do them i believe.

    HTH's, John.

Cheers chaps, no the head has that part machined off... Back to where the Cam cover gasket would fit! I read somewhere that you can buy Cams modified for such a head mod, does anyone know which ones these are!?

    Re: XE MK1 Van

Im having a short block Built at the Moment with 87.5mm Forged accralite intruder pistons, lightened and balanced everything, arp rod bolts. The pistons have got mammoth cut outs, leaving me room to do head work and cams at a later date! I got a blanking plug from SBD. The engine builder is chopping the cam for me and also turning me up a plug for the heater outlet on the back of the head!
I got some bits from YUKSPEED the other day, helpful chap! I have had to lower the rack by 1", which i have done with one of this mans X-members, really nicely made it is too! I also managed to source a spigot bearing for the crank from him too! Looking at his prices, a lot of his stuff is cheaper than SBD! Worth a try i reakon!
The Van itself is being painted as i type!
