    Intermittent injector pulse.

After a long break decided to get stuck back into the escort. Problem is the injector pulse seems to be intermittent. Car has spark, even checked by swapping injection manifold to a carb and the thing started first go and ran like a dream. When switching ignition on, you can only hear the injectors pulse (prime) every one in 4 or 5 times. Confirmed by disconnecting manifold, angling injectors up and watching for spray. Have tried swapping out injectors and also hot wiring positive feed, so confirmed it is the switching earth as they also fire when manually grounded.

Is this a problem at the dizzy end? (Hall effect distributor)
    Or
Is this a problem at the ecu? (Driver?) Have tried using different injector pinouts but no luck.

Or something else? Bad earth? Etc.

Car is turbo pinto running EMS management with hall dizzy.

    Thanks, shaun

    Re: Intermittent injector pulse.

With Megasquirt you get a priming pulse on each switch-on. This decreases in size as engine temperature increases. However at more than 80% throttle (or as set) this is inhibited. So is injection during subsequent cranking for flooded engine clearing. Is your throttle pot working OK?
