I fitted a boot spoiler recently, certainly makes the car look better. If all goes well the engine will be sorted soon and I can start tearing up the roads.

Got some goodies for the upcoming engine conversion
And also a English axle Now just to lay my hands on a LSD centre portion - anyone know of one and willing to ship it to SA ?
Just needs a good clean, I will post some more once it's done
Small update, I went to my m8's workshop to carry on with grinding work on the head and the dremmel burned out so I could only start. Guess it happens so once we have another unit I should be able to finish it up. From there we need to measure the combustion chambers for the correct cc's then the head can be slotted on and we can do the shimming
Fook ur taking your time....
I know it's all due to my m8 being in charge of the engineering work and I only get to work on it over weekends. Luckily that has been finished now so it's coming together slowly. I still need a adjustable pedal box and a set of 45 Webers but the engine will be run in on 40's for now. Also need that LSD centre portion but the exchange rate is a little unstable so I will have to hold on a while.
Been ages since my last update So after almost two and a half years my engine is seeing progress.
We have assembled the head but picked up that the intakes on no 2 is not seating properly so have to sort this first Other than that it's only the shimming and then it's finished
I removed the std engine and booster, also made some space for the oil cooler, just not sure if I should mount it centered or to the side - if it moves to the side then I need other fittings
My Sport finally made it to the workshop, started sanding the engine bay down for some fresh paint, car will need a complete paint job some time but can do without it for now. Engine is finished and waiting for fitment, just need to sort out the brake piping and clutch plate.
It's getting close now
What are those headlights you installed? I'm working on a 1600 sport also, and those surely look interesting.....
Finnford
looking very nice,bling,bling
CheeRS for the comments the lights are golf 1 diamond type
So after about 3 years of graft it's finally coming to an end, spent my December leave fitting the engine and other goods. Still need to finish my bias pedal box, sort out some wiring and bolt the carbs on then it can be fired up Getting anxious to drive her
Engine looks good in there, wont be long now.
Howdy all,
My last update here was 2008 and lots have happened in between
In short this is the end result, what do you lads recon?
This coming Sunday 31.07.2016 will be her maiden voyage to one of SA's biggest classic car shows
