With 8 wins out of 10 races Pierre-Francois won the French HTCC Groupe1 championship in his 'true' GP1 Mk2 Escort RS2000.
    Well done!

    Thanks,
And other 2 results were a 3rd and a 4th (this one after serving a drive through at start of the race!!!).
4 pole positions out of 5 possible.
Fastest race Laps in 8 out of 10 and new lap records at charade, nogaro and ledenon.
An amazing driver and great guy all around, fully deserves that championship.
Roll on 2016, quite a fair amount of work to be done to the car over the winter. We might be back to defend title if we can't find different gp1 races where we can get involved in Europe (but true gp1 so we have a chance at being competitive...

Never too late to thank you "Miniliteman" and Graham, your huge experience helped to improve the tuning of this home made engine. Actually, I never took the time to perform a proper RR session (complicated in the Paris area) and had to assess torque band and power by the "seat of the pants". The goal was to find the best reliability, cost and performance compromise. With std 205 rods the engine was limited to 7000/7200 rpm and around 165hp but it was OK as soon as the other competitors were within the regulations and the operator kept enforcing it. the However, as the car was homogeneous (even in its limitations, like seized front dampers..!) it was well suited to my driving and I enjoyed it very much. At that time the regulation was to use Nankang touring tyres with very little adhesion and poor consistency over the laps, which was favoring the ones at ease in a twitchy and sliding car. Best souvenir was Charade track race (best track in the world by the late Sir Stirling), a twisty mountain road with concrete wall surrounding the car and virtually no escape. As you know, in these situation you need to have full confidence in your car and the little Escort is a sturdy and predictable car, well suited for extreme involvement behind the steering wheel! The lap time in 2015 were on par with a modern Renault Megane RS (260ch) on Michelin Pilot sport. , funny.
