Yeah mate, imagine the link bracket is vertical, then the centre line through the pinion is 4 degrees up from horizontal. Do you want to see a picture or does that answer your question?

If you are using slipper springs, the saddles should be perpendicular to the link bracket.

    cheers

    Re: diff angle

Just a thought.... Before you go welding the diamonds on - make sure you genuinely do need 4 degrees of nose-up. I understand that figure came from the works cars back in the day..... Ford engine, ZF box, in their normal positions, with normal ride height etc. As soon as you start fitting different engines/boxes, mouting them in different places, then the 4-degree figure might not be correct. I know that in my mk2, when i first tried the diamonds at 4 degrees, the rear UJ was a crazy angle, so i ended up with ( i think) a lot less than +4 degrees.

Basically, tack the diamonds on, and try the axle in the car - check the UJ angles and clearances (with the car's weight ON the wheels - i.e. normal ride height) before welding them on properly...

    Don't forget some pictures, please

    cheers
    Tom
