Something fishy about this ebay ad?

When I look at the listing it starts off as an auction as usual of a very nice Mk1 Mexico but after a few seconds it changes to a buy now with a different seller ID.
    Item No 281855620355
    Scam?

    Well would you believe it.
The item has been removed. I hope nobody hit the buy now button.
A mint Mk1 Mexico for 5.5k surely nobody could possibly fall for that.

How do these scammers do it, looked as if the it re directed to a spoof page. What some people do just amazes me, they must get a few people to make them keep doing it.

    Scumbags.

Yeah, the url is this bit https://www.ebay.....
I clicked a advert a few months ago it loaded up, then the screen flickerd and came back on.
It seemed too cheap in the first place thats why i clicked on it.
Looked at the url and it had nothing to do with ebay, i was on some random website made to look like eBay.

Don't you end up with ebay giving you hassle doing that?
Reporting the item if its obviously a con is another good way to mess them up, it might save the less wary a few quid in
a deposit for something that doesn't exist like that well known red rs 2000 that keeps popping up now and then plus the
other 10 odd vehicles listed on the same account! 5k for a 2012 transit camper anyone?

I even got a sort code and account number to pay the cash into and then reported it to the bank ,,,Answer was we cant discuss this as he is protected under the Data Protection Act,,,,,,,Reported it to the Police who replied We can only act if you pay him and do not receive the goods

Bottom line is the system is protecting the scam artists

Its unbelievable how easy it seems to be for criminals to be able to use the system in there favour, you would think if you were going to con someone you would not want to give out your personal details to a bank etc,
Still if the new rules come in that all new police officers will have to have a degree to get into the force i am sure we will all feel a lot safer

Haha what a joke-Ebay are just as bad as the scammers-looks like no one checks the listings at all. They are so easy to spot yet are reluctant to chase these scammers up but I bet it comes down to money ie getting their poxy listing fees etc.. I bet even the fraud squad wont do anything as alandavis said he had bank details for a scammer but they wouldnt chase it up as he hadnt actually paid any money. Ebay you suck!
