Yep! Also on my wish list!
Rev too 9500
Has anyone actually built one
The guy who sells them and a friend of mine is going to build one very soon
They do some nice X flow kits too
Be interesting to see what power they make and if they can be revved to 9.5k
It's the top end that will be the limiting factor on if they can Rev that high, would need some pretty radical cams to make power to those revs, solid lifters too and a mega flowing head, it's not hard to make a bottom end 9500 proof
A ported st170 head will flow enough and a call to cat cams will sort cam issue
For 9500 rpm?, hmm, you would defo need solid lifters and pretty stiff valve springs, it would be a full race cam too. I think realistically you'd be looking at an engine making power to 7700 maybe 8, all they are saying is that the components are safe to 9500.

Safe at 9500 red line at 9 then
Do you know the spec of the engine they are going to build and what power they are looking for be interesting to see what it makes
Of course
Mine revs to 8k now but limit to 7500 with no probs
OK but it does not mean it can rev to 8K it's still making power at this level. Let along at 9500 RPM. But yes, it can and will run 9500RPM and even a lot more as long the gearbox is in neutral. With no rev limiter you can rev it until you only have bit's and pieces.
The point I want to make here, if the torque curve is going down totally it has no sense to rev this high unless in a one gear speedway car. It's damn difficult to let an engine make power at 9500 RPM, specially with a long stroke engine.
Fair point I personally are looking for more torque so it's prob wat I be looking for
These are just the job for my project, any idea who supplies these????
There on eBay with the guy who puts the kit together
Many thanks but searched ebay high and low but can,t find them
Did this engine ever get built
Well it ended up with 2.1 big compression and lots of other bits and I just put it the weekend
Waiting for gear box to arrive tranx straight cut then running in for 200 miles then remap atlas coming soon funds allow ££
Be interesting to see what the end results are what's the spec and what power do you expect
Know its an old'ish thread but wondered why the - not to 9.5k revs comments arose? After all this is a derivative of BD heritage and no one questions their high rpm / power potential. While 'safe' to those revs, which is impressive in itself, power may have left the stable long since!
I'll see if it makes any more power as the revs rise
Any power figures for your engine yet
Torque wins races BHP wins Friends
How refreshing not to hear "fully forged", I wonder, is that a need for speed term ? Seems to be bantered around by the children on the internet a lot.
All run in now just waiting for RR I never knew that you would really notice the running in from start till now revs freely now want to check cam timing and clearness but no rattles can't wait
Let us know what results are once it's been on rollers
It's at the RR over Christmas couple of jobs to do wile its there so should have some power figures soon
Cnc head , cams , direct to head throttle bodies , rods ,pistions , high flow manifold 12:1 compression , all balanced and lightened flywheel running on emerald ecu oh lightend crank pullies high flow oil pump and billet oil drive billet cam belt pullie too

What's it like to drive. What are your expectations of torque and bhp
So far driving on bace ish map feels good ups and goes was only driving running in to ! And I put a new tranX gbox in it 95 mph 3rd gear , not on rev limiter yet
Engine builder said 220 bhp torque not sure on but that where I hope to improve with the 2.1 bore
Be I tresting to see what this makes. What cams where used in the end?
