Choosing what colour to spray my mk2 ???

When I started out I wanted to paint my mk2 2 door with Forrest arches, ford dimond White,

when i got it it had bin painted inside very badly with Kawasaki green,

but ive had lots of white cars and the more I think about it the more I like the idea of graphite grey sort of colour, I'm putting the car into primer tomorrow, we'll my dad is,

id id love a day glow yellow /neon but it doesn't last,

I think Escorts look great in any colour, white used to be my fave but grey is very cool, every modern road car I've bought I've always ordered in grey.....that one above looks the biz, there are a lot of nice modern greys too, from deep gun metal to dark silver. BMW steel grey is a cracking colour.

Had a smiler chat with my dad and his mate today, nearly every car in our family is grey / silver ish and I said it could be any colour and it will still look nice.

My thought been if I paint it white I can paint over it easyley, where as matalic grey would be harder and harder to match / patch when I prang it.

I've always found white a nightmare to colour match, I've had Ford diamond white from the same place and the colour was way off. Any metallic colour will be tricky but I don't think white is any easier to colour match than anything else. Look at loads of pics and go with whatever draws you in the most. In fact if you look at my car in my posts you'll see the diff in colour between the under bonnet and body, the paint was mixed and bought at the same place.

There are a few out there but mostly modern spec cars, most historics are the old school colours

I was the same i bought 5l of olympic blue. I only used just over 2l. If i was to paint my mk1 the same color i would have another 5l mixed instead of using what i have so i can get a good match on any future repairs.

White always v forgiving!!! Mk1/2's look great in any colour. Old skool best in my opinion but you also see some stunning modern coloured escorts. My mk1,s gonna be monza blue btw

I went White in the end, the only the inside was painted, it's going to a body shop for the outside when it's finished

If mine was a road car I would have gone grey, but it's a track / drift / auto test car, whites easyer to repair was my decider
