attaching rear flared glass arches, mk1 capri

I got some flared rear arches for the mk1, whats the best way to fit these?
The Mk1 has a lot going on at the rear arch with dummy vent recesses and that hockey stick bit.
Do i just bung them on with some adhesive, use some self tappers along the edge, let it cure, take out the screws then try and blend down the fiberglass to meet the metal then use some p40 then p38 to finish?

with time most fibre glass arches crack away from the body due to flexing at the joint, i think i would bond and rivet them on, having countersunk the rivet holes first, then grind the square edge of the arch away so it less of a step, followd by filler to blend

I got some tigerseal with the panels. But i found some 3m 2 part adhesive that needs an applicator gun, expensive but if its not gonna crack id pay it.
I'll hit up trig seee if he has any advice for me. Thanks

i just did the arches on my car.

Used this. Pretty high tech stuff and was easy applying it. I also rivetted the arches additionaly. I have some pics on my resto thread.

How about no filler , no blending in ? ... fit and paint

Just leave a lip like some of the mk2 Escorts ive seen

    It does look quite tidy

I was looking at filipvdvs build thread and i was just PMing him regarding the same thing if he intended on blending it in or leave as is.
I agree that the non blended in, riveted on arches look good but there a lot going on at the rear arch of a mk1 capri, an escort arch is very plain by comparison and the rivits look tidy.
The same idea might look pretty messy on a mk1 capri??
I'm aiming for a factory type look, well that was the initial thought

I'm only filling the rivets with filler and leave the lip visible. I kinda like that look. A mate of mine blended his arches bout 10 years ago, not a single crack and he simply used body filler. Guess he's lucky

I think I'll just chance it with filler too. Can't really find any decent info on doing this and having it crack free for years. I think if I make sure everything is scuffed well and cleaned well it should hold up ok.
