Setting valve lash
I built a 2.0 l 260hp Dura engine for a friend in beginning of 2015 with new parts from Raceline.
Hi has done about 10 track days with it during summer and it runs great!
I checked valve lash now and it is a bit of on some of the valves.
Worst is 2 exhaust valves that are 0.20 and two intake valves that are 0.21 and one that is 0.22.
None of the valves are "spot on". Kent Cams recommend 0.25 on both intake and exhaust.
If i use Dobuy's Excel bucket sizer i can get all the valves "spot on" by moving the existing buckets around and just buying two new.
BUT...is it OK to move the buckets around?
It is said to be important to use new bucket when installing new cams because the buckets and the cam knobs are said to match them self together. But what now when adjusting the valve lash?
The cams and buckets were all new when installed.
Can I move the buckets around or should I buy a complete new set again?
Or..
…is it 0,20mm not to worry about?

Re: Setting valve lash
what is the ford spec? I would find that out and go with that, I imagine that your measurements will be fine and within tolerance

Re: Setting valve lash
Yep fine to move buckets around, pretty well everyone does that

Ford spec is 0.25 +-3 inlet and 0.30 +-3 exhaust.
