    Rwd fiesta

Hi all. Just in the process to start building a mk2 fiesta converting To rwd.
Gona be using gp4 escort suspension on capri front crossmember, engine not sure as yet . rx8 6speed gearbox coupled to either atlas or sierra cosworth rear beam.
I know it's a lot of work. But have converted escorts to rwd before. And I have always wanted to do fiesta.
    My only question is.
Front anti roll bar or compression struts. Like the idea of comp struts. But would it handle better with roll bar. It's only c
    Gonna be road use.
Any info will be taken on board. Thanks all mike

Hi mick32. Have not had any experience of compression struts. Only ever used rollbars . By upping roll bar diameter. Not sure about the handling. Thanks for ur ideas tho. Mike

you could also adapt an escort tension strut kit and they come with an anti roll bar kit as well i use this setup on my mk1 escort with bilstein struts 300/100 inserts and 250lb springs and it handles very well.but if you went with either comp or tension you have the provision to adjust castor angle quite easily. cheers mick

Hi mick32. Thanks for ur idea. Engine wise I'm thinking silvertop zetec 2.0. Running either 45 webbers or bike carbs. Drive thru rx8 gearbox. What people think on this ideas please. Mike

Slight change of plans. Just bought a mk6 fiesta to convert to RWD,
Her is a question for the brainy ones out there.
Gonna run sierra 4x4 rear end. And coilovers
Front is gp4 coilover struts and tension bars
My question is how much castor can i build into the set up. Wrc cars run large amounts of castor
The car is gonna be fast road / track .
I have built a few rwd conversions but kept everything standard setup. Camber and castor.

Are u gonna run power steering what offset wheels u running ? More caster will make the steering wheel return to centre faster for drifting etc
U may getaway with 2-3deg on my escort I need prob 5deg as have 8 1/4 wide wheels 0 offset and power steering

Thanks for info. It's gona have sierra front end. So I could put power steering on her. As for rims not sure what yet just know I want it on 17s. Was gona wait till it's built. Then try different wheels till I find the one I like. So let me get it straight. If I run to much castor. She will straighten up quicker. Would that be all. Or is there any negatives to that. Cheers mike

U may get some lifting of the front end at full lock but I know mercs n bmw run loads caster but think that's helping Ackerman angle when doin tight turns maybe
Not sure on modern cars 🤓
Ask some kitcar builders on what they've use if it's Sierra based kit car :-)

    Advise wanted if poss.
I'm in the process of converting a mk6 fiesta to rwd. Using a sierra rear end as my base. It will be running cozzy brakes and lsd diff.
Running Gaz coilovers. With 2.1/4 springs. I'm thinking of 180 lbs springs. Any ideas on the poundage, or am I correct in my thinking of 180.
    Cheers mike
