Its a 1978 1.6 ghia with a good old crossflow,30,000 original miles,was an auto so i changed that and put a type 2 4 speed in it,ive been using as a daily for about a year,and i love it( i dont mind its not the fastest or loudest),after driving it a while i thought i would like a bit more power,so i persuaded the wife to part with the range rover and give me all the moneyanyway the idea is to keep it as original as possible from the outside but make it 21century drivable,just a few gentle upgrades

the shell is pretty much rust free seems the ziebart did its job the only place it the heater plegnum

What type of gearbox mounting are you using for the 4 speed box?
Mine has a terrible vibration on rear end of the gearbox and snapped the extension housing

i used the original auto mount welded with a cortina one (banana shaped one) but i now have bought a hd from burton power

can anyone help ,i got two new front springs -2" ,the only way i can describe it is the tail bit doesnt locate in the cup very well it just spins? will it expand a bit under load and stay that way?

as you can see ive spent far too much money so farim just waiting for the weather to brighten up a bit so i can get the welding done and then a spot of paint then its reassemble time
If you have a remote driver side mirror you would be better getting a matching remote one for the passenger side....looks much better . I think i paid about £80 for mine on ebay a few year back
