I've had this heather box on the shelf for a while but can't remember what it was from.
It is steel and I have a suspicion it is from a Mk1 Escort but can anyone confirm from the pictures below?
Grateful for any info.
Cheers,
John

Hello John.
Just had a look at mine (1972 mk1) and its not the same.
Mine doesn't have the two tubes coming out the sides and the shape of the other two plastic elbows on mine are round.
Very similar body shape though.
My guess is mk2!
Mk 2
I'd say early Mk2 van.
The one from my van was made of tin like the Mk1's but had the additional side exits to suit the Mk2 dash
early mk2 escort
Thanks everyone. So it is a Mk2 one. All the ones I have had previously (I've only had Mk2's) were plastic which is what made me question it.
Does anyone know what years and trims were the metal ones fitted to?
Cheers
John
the 1975 1300L I broke had a metal one similar to both my mk1s my 1980 rs2000 was plastic
If your thinking of using it Id take the motor off, check the brushes, and relubricate the bronze sleeve bearings with some light oil. also the foam on the flaps inside the heater box has probably long since disintegrated, I used some self adhesive closed cell foam strip from RS components to refurbish mine.
